There is a major difference in the Jewish view of Satan or the Devil and the Christian view expressed in the NT.
The Jewish Bible mentions Satan 3 times, in the smaller NT Satan is mentioned 35 times. Christians were obsessed with Satan.
Jews view Satan as an agent with God, Christians view Satan as an enemy of God.

What did satan have to lose by making such a promise to jesus? hell, he's a liar and jesus knew it so he knew that satan was lying to him--right??????
