The older I get, the more aware I become of how life is like walking around the outside ledge of a building on a windy day.
We grow accustomed to most of the perceived dangers, and we adjust by putting one foot in front of the other.
However, when we discover even greater risks we've faced without knowing it--it's enough to make a person embrace
the old adage, "What you don't know won't hurt you." Except for the fact it's better to know than to be ignorant.
I'm 67. The one thing I don't want is to end up in a hospital bed slowly wasting away.
That's why I ride a bicycle in traffic in the hot sun without sunscreen or helmet.
We humans are a crazy lot.

Shame that God designed the Sun to do stuff like that. Maybe he didn't intend for us to have technology. Or maybe the Sun became imperfect too when Adam and Eve sinned.

No satellites, radio communications, cell phones, computer, telecommunications, internet and power grids for months, perhaps years, even decades in certain parts and areas. WowBut our apocalypse fixation ignores the fact that the things we're afraid of are old-hat. Extinction level events have happened again and again throughout history and, we're still here.
