We'll see how truthful this turns out to be.
The Ukrainian people are to be pitied because they are completely screwed. If they "win", they get austerity forced on them by Europe, via the IMF. Meanwhile, they are destroying a part of their nation that has earned money for them from trade with Russia. They are nearly bankrupt and their economy is sinking fast.
It's sad. They're just pawns.
