OOOOH, I'm jealous. But, it's supposed to be on ABC on Aug. 24, so I won't be far behind you in seeing it. As much as I liked Matt Smith, I also think Capaldi will be a good Dr. Who.

Great fun - Capaldi may well shape to be the best Doctor of the new era.
Didn't like the new version of the theme though.

I wish all fans Happy Viewing, but since I saw the very first episodes as a pre-teen , I have a had a low opinion of it as entertainment, but that is just me, I never have gone in for absolute fantasy/sci-fi.
Having said that, I loved all the Indiana Jones films, which are pure fantasy in some people's estimation, but I could sit back and enjoy them, not sci-fi though.

Back in his younger days, the new Doctor Who was lead in a band where Craig Ferguson played drums...(Late Late Show--CBS, last day Dec 19; Craig is a big Who fan and has a TARDIS on his desk). I bet they never saw themselves where they are today.

Happily watching since the second Doctor. Nice to have an older Doctor and an end to all the lovey dovey stuff. Kick alien arse and save the universe that is what I want from my doctor.
