THE REASON JW.ORG is a strawman tool of evangelism

IF EVERYBODY WATCHES WHAT YOU DO--THEY WILL NOTICE ALL YOUR MISTAKES.

The same is true of RELIGIONS and religious leaders.

Too much exposure proved DISASTROUS for Jimmy Swaggert, Bob Tilton, Rev. Haggard, Peter Popoff

    Ask yourself this question:

IF YOU WERE A MAYOR or CITY MANAGER who received information from the F.B.I. the city's water supply had been poisoned by Terrorists

would you use every means of communication possible to warn people in as short a period of time as possible?

WHAT DO THESE TWO THINGS SHARE IN COMMON?

    1. Too much exposure for religions and leaders leads to scrutiny and curiosity which will BRING YOU DOWN.

    2. A LEADER must warn of public danger with every mean at their disposal as urgently as possible

I am going to make an assertion which, to me, seems logical.

The Watchtower Society is under considerable pressure to grow simply because it is evangelical in nature.

However--along with growth comes the deadly public exposure experienced by the above named high-profile religious preachers.

PUBLIC SCRUTINY is never good when you have secrets, scandals, failures and controversy to downplay or hide.

I believe the advent of JW.ORG is a compromise action which only seems to be forward-thinking and active.

In reality it is a strawman facade of advancement allowing a very bland and passive public face to be presented TOTALLY NON-CONTROVERSIAL.

I also assert the PASSIVE use of outdoor LITERATURE CARTS is yet another bland, non-confrontational counterfeit operation.

The Apostles and Christians in the first century used the most effective methods possible to preach, including speaking in the synagogues, in the marketplaces, and in people’s homes.

They also wrote letters and forwarded the letters on to others. That was the extent of technology at that time, and they used it effectively. However technology has dramatically changed in the last 100 years let alone the last 2000 years.

Why is it that as Witnesses we are instructed not to use the Internet, or email, or social networks or the television to preach the warning? Telephone or letter witnessing is allowed but only as a small part of the ministry.

It is conservative to estimate that around 50% of the ones baptized are children who have been raised in the truth and do not require preaching to from door to door.

It now takes almost 11,000 man hours of the house to house ministry to get an interested person to baptism. If “Joe” publisher went house to house on average 10 hrs a month, it will take him 91 years to get a student to the point of being baptized.

Statistically it is impossible since we live to 70- or 80 years old.

This highlights how ineffective door to door is as a means of warning people about an impending disaster. Despite these odds why do we continue to maintain that the house to house ministry is the most effective method? The data does not support the claim.

Keeping the Rank and File Jehovah's Witness member busy is a classic cult tactic because it consumes their time and energy, keeps them surrounded by the propaganda and exposes them to the pressure of the group, and also eats up time that could be spent reflecting and researching.

If Jehovah's Witnesses believe they have the most important and urgent messege in all of history why do they deliberately choose to use the least effective means of delivering that messege?

    The answer is:

IT IS TOO RISKY to do otherwise .

Why is it that as Witnesses we are instructed not to use the Internet, or email?

Because there will exist a hard copy that can come back to bite them. They avoid like the plague putting anything in writing as it removes all deniability

Yep, they're definitely trying to put on a good show, while continuing to insulate the R/F from the public with passive preaching carts and tract campaigns where you don't talk to anyone for more than a few seconds.

I agree 100%. If they are confident of their doctrines and they really believe that billions of lives are at stake, then why don't they use TV, radio, etc. to advertise their message? They know they can't defend their doctrines. There are too many skeletons in the org's closets. There are too many failed predictions. There is so much crazy stuff in the older publications and in the org's history. They would get clobbered. You're right in stating "Too much exposure for religions and leaders leads to scrutiny and curiosity which will BRING YOU DOWN" and "PUBLIC SCRUTINY is never good when you have secrets, scandals, failures and controversy to downplay or hide."

At least Russell would engage in debates. The GB wouldn't stand a chance in debates today. If they really thought they had the truth, they could engage in YouTube debates, be interviewed on TV, etc. But they hide; they stay off the front lines because they know they wouldn't stand a chance.

Once your membership is 7 to 8 million, those members are CUSTOMERS you can use to BUY your products.

The JW religion can coast along as long as they replace those who get DF'd.

You are right on the money Terry, not only are

they afraid of deadly publc exposure....they are

very afraid & leery of members discussing their

own doctrine together! Even one trigger word

can stop a conversation in its tracks!

    There's another possibility, too.

The WTS's little makeover is also making it even easier for loyalists to remain so, whilst alienating genuinely devout (but more capable thinking) long-time rank-and-filers who can't help but find the bland shallowness of it all disturbing.

My former "best" friend who has remained a JW since he sucked me into it in 1959 is a really intelligent fellow

who told me he knows how to "play the game" and I thought that was rather cynical.

Yet, the more I've considered what he really meant, I see it is an ego thing.

To be a "knowing" big fish in a small pond is of value to him because he knows the thing is rigged a certain way.

He can jigger it and intimidate and back down the elders because he has the skills (seeing both sides of each issue.)

Over the course of one year (when he was still secretly talking to me) he admitted (inadvertantly mostly) to his doubts,

reservations and ability to detect false statements. However, never let it be said he is not a TRUE BELIEVER in the

sense cognitive dissonace has him by the balls.

I tried to keep pounding home the one essential truth: THEY ARE FALSE PROPHETS.

He squirmed alot and gave the pathetic excuses. But, I hope I made just a small dent.
