My wife said to me me that she'd really like to see a survey carried out on the Internet, where active/attending Witnesses only, could anonymously reveal that they privately celebrate the Memorial and partake of the emblems.

What sort of figures would such a survey throw up?

Any chance of someone organising such a survey during the "Memorial season"?

This is avery good idea, and undermines the claim by the WT that their policy of restricting the New Covenant (and it's cup) to the few has merit. but

Those that still partake in private, do so because they do not want to be identify with the crowd and idea of the "little flock" delusion?so

that survey would have no relevance to the rising number of the REMNANT.

reminds you of the "Remnant Store" that has an ever greater supply of left-overs.

anonymous internet surveys aren't worth the paper they are printed on, except for making the organiser feel relevant.

better for those who feel the urge to start partaking as a JW or join a religion that more accurately reflects their beliefs

Instead of completing a survey, vote with your wallet!  A survey allows a person to vent.  Not donating to the WTBTS allows a person to vent, enjoy life more, and may be effect positive change in the WTBTS.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

As I recall, that is one of the questions on Cedar's survey.

It always makes me laugh when people present internet polls as though they are scientific surveys with profound results.

Anything where the electorate is self-selecting and lacks any controls on the internet is solely suited to asking pop-culture questions only such as "who do you like on American Idol".

Beyond that they should be ignored. They may be fun, but they tell us nothing that carries any weight.

Conducting proper polls and surveys is a scientific and difficult process.

    Searcher,

It would be very interesting to know this. And it would probably have to be anonymous due to the fact that the Society would organize a witch hunt for anyone having meetings not organized under their oversight.

Unfortunately, the anonymity of the poll itself would negate its results.

The AnointedJW site sometimes publishes anecdotal evidence of large numbers who do this. Exactly how large? -who knows - but I notice that the Society NEVER mentions such things happening - a sure sign that it is happening to some degree. They just don't want to give anyone who hasn't thought of it the idea.

Similarly, they sometimes speak of some partaking because of 'earthly problems,' past religious beliefs, and 'mental unbalance.' But they NEVER mention that some partake because of believing that all Christians should - even though they know that some are doing this. They just don't want to give the idea out to others who haven't figured this out for themselves.
