If you got to the JW pr website, you can join an email list. This morning I received an email from their list about child abuse. The title of the email is "Knowledge of Child Abuse--Progressive Understanding for Society in General". I guess they are claiming ignorance now.
By the way, in addition to showing how badly the JWs deal with abuse issues, this incident with silentlambs and his judicial hearing last nite demonstrates just how the Society operates when it comes to judicial matters. They are nothing more than spiritual bullies. Bill showed up with witnesses and the media. The Society realized that they could not bully him and they backed down. They are scared to death over this guys.
Last nite, I was watching a program on EWTN which is the worldwide Catholic TV Network. They were talking about the sex scandal in the Catholic church and were saying that this will probably bankrupt many of the Catholic archdiocese in the USA. But they were saying that this was a good thing since it will purify the church and make the clergy in the church more holy. It appears as though many Catholics are ready to take their medicine for the sins they have committed.
In contrast, the Watchtower is not ready for this. They want to continue to bully victims and those who speak out for them. They are showing their true colors for all the world to see.
Jeff, I think your right about some catholics wanting change for the right reasons. The WT will see nothing but 'persecution', that's all. Totally sick.
All you have to do is make every question in life the black and white "satan or jehovah" argument, and the witties will take sides with "jehovah's side" (as per the WTBTS word), no matter who it hurts.
To me this whole thing sounds like the fall of the pagan religions!!! What amazes me so much is when the whole scandal in the catholic church came out, I remember my grandmother and my mother talking about how "awful" it was that these things were going on and how world like it was!!!! Now that all this is coming out about the JoHo's I havent heard a word from my mother and granny about this. I am going to bring it up to them... but.... only after dateline airs. I would hate to have to hear my mother and granny harp on me for being involved in apostate affairs!!

the gov body has way more "control" over their members, than the catholic church has.
they will probably make some policy changes to appease the government and then go on with their scam........mostly it will effect the gen public, to make them aware........their control might even tighten up............but the end result is going to be that their lack of "new members" is going to make the size of the organization start getting smaller and smaller, as the hard core followers die off.
