You think they would prefer to donate it to one of the smaller Bethels with no press or an even older one - that's what happened to most of the rest of those that were in the USA and the UK.
They do say it's currently in use though, so it doesn't nescessarily indicate winding down production nescessarily in itself. They might just want to replace it with a newer model when they move to Warwick, which actually might indicate a desire to increase production or reduce running costs. It's probably more cost-effective to just order a new press rather than dismantling an old one and moving it?

With the current massive push for JW.org, there's no way they're going to increase printing production.
I agree, but if they're not replacing it, that would leave the only other reason to generate some cash, and from other threads on here, people seem to be thinking they aren't in that position yet?

This press was for sale years ago. I thought it was already sold. It was one of the 3 in Wallkill from 1986 that they sold. They use the 2 faster presses 16 hours a day.
I'm confused as to if they want to increase production at Wallkill. The past two years the new convention books were printed in Germany. They mention "adjustments" to the printery are underway.
But they DID order new bindery equipment in 2011, perhaps for the new bibles.

I would personally agree with the idea of the WT going in the digital direction, just look at the old watchtowers and awakes... they look like theyve been dieting...
