I'm not saying this is the way to handle this, but is a way that might not cause too much resistance (I hope).
My son is a strong JW, so i hadn't told him about Dateline, etc., yet. However, this morning I finally e-mailed him an article about it from today's Newsday (found on another thread). The message i sent was something like:
I believe you like to keep up with the news and this may cause reactions from people at the doors. It's been in newspapers like NY Times and in France and Canada. The Dateline show is on at 10:00 (our time) Tuesday. You can find more articles by using 'newsindex.com". Let me know what you think.
I read where Nathan Natas (satan spelled backwards) - suggested the following (paraphrased):
There's going to be a show on Dateline Tuesday night at ........, which has a segment on Jehovah's Witnesses. Since I know you like to keep up to date, thought you'd like to watch it.
Btw, just saw a commercial for it on tv! Didn't mention Jehovah's Witnesses. Talked about a group which covered up child molestation cases for 1,00's of victims. Even showed one girl speaking about it. And Bill Bowen photographs well.
what do you do if you don't know their email address?
What if you see them.....do you say something, or let them get a tape of it when they hear about it? I know I for one dearly love my JW family, but am rather tired of feeling like the "bad guy....."
have any of you got to the point where you just feel "hey if I can find out all this info, so can they when they WANT to?"
