Everywhere you look you find memorials
You find the statues of people who sacrificed
Their lives so others could live in peace and harmony
You see the flags waving remembering
And honoring those who have died as victims
Through no fault of their own and those
Whose call of duty required them
To lay down their lives in service of others
You see the memorials in the stamps, in the flag poles
You see it in the newspapers; you see it in the parks
You see it in the “Wall that Heals” as it travels in the land
Though they are gone they are not forgotten
Though their lives were lost it was not in vain
And they live on as heroes in the psyche of the nation
I wonder as the wall of secrecy comes down for the Watchtower
What memorial will there be for those victims who have
Suffered everything from sexual abuse to a death in vain
I wonder who will take notice and apologize
For their pain and suffering of being silenced for years
Unlike the proud family of fallen warriors who will
Feel pride for these heroes and victims as they live their five
Minutes of fame attacked as infidels by the very institution
They labored for in a thankless work their whole lives
Unlike victims being cared for who will care for these and
Other victims who are emboldened to come forward
