Deus Ex Machina

Much as I would like to see an unbroken string of
Watchtower defeats, unfortunately they may find encouragement
in a possible coming event - nuclear war between Pakistan
    and India.

Like 9-11, I'm sure they'll play it for all it's worth
to drive empty heads into kingdumb halls.

As for practical effects, I think the fallout may be no
worse than above ground nuke testing in the '50's.
Such a horror might benefit world peace by:

eliminating Pakistan, its terrorists and its 'Islamic
    bomb'

encouraging moderation in crazy nations like Iran, which
    publically advocates nuking Israel

and encouraging peace treaties with China and Russia
as after the Cuban missile crisis in the '60's

    metatron,

Great post as is to be expected. I think the upcoming DateLine and particularly its after-effects will prevent any Deus Ex Machina from happening. The WTS has escaped unscathed too many times, but don't stand much of a chance escaping when they will be exposed far and wide for covering up child rape for decades.

I wonder how many newspapers will pick up that DateLine information and hit the streets with it in the next few days? This matter WILL become general public knowledge, so even if the dubs are kept in the dark about it, free people everywhere will know all about it. That can do nothing but severely taint the faked "goodness" dubs have been touting to the world for far too long.

What does "Deus Ex Machina" mean, or what does it refer to? Thanks

    Dan,

I recall it to refer to a dramatic measure invented for the ancient Greek theaters. Think of those old TV serials, the ones where the hero was in such a horrible situation that you knew he was toast. Then in the next episode he somehow miraculously finds a way to get out of his mess.

This was what the ancient Greeks did in their dramas. The expression means "Machine of the Gods." Sometimes the Gods in those ancient plays would actually come down from the ceiling and pluck the hero or heroine from their mess and miraculously save them.

At least that's the way I remember it when I was in school about 150 years ago.

Not only that, but today Russia sign up for NATO in an historic agreement; hailed by all as a new era in international relations.
All the old enemies coming together to fight a single enemy - religious fanatics.

Turning on religion and 'Peace and Security' anyone?

The JWs are gonna love this.

I like your posts Metatron !

PM Tony Blair has hailed closer security ties between Nato and Russia - and says a new pact is a "great sign of optimism".

If Russia joins Nato will that mean the King of the North has packed his bags and moved South ?

I recently asked a relative who the WT thought the King of the North was now after the breakup of the Soviet Union. He came back a week later (obviously after scouring the WT literature for an answer) and said: "We actually don't know who he is at the moment"

Who will the WT scholars crown as the new King ? I think they must put names in a hat and draw one out. China ? Muslim nations ?
Your guess is as good as mine (and theirs)

But all the world news could be just the diversion the WT needs. New security pact between Nato and Russia. Then Pakistan and India go to war. The US get Putin's approval and invade Iraq....

There's no good news like bad news for the Watchtower.

More accurately, Farkel, it's "God FROM machine". Italian opera later borrowed from the Greeks, developing complex (and hand-operated!!) machinery for moving scenery, people, animals, etc., during operas. For more info on this, click below:
