  An article that appears in todays HERALDSUN newspaper 11/10/14 by Tom Elliott , HERALDSUN.COM.AU .....(.Victoria Australia)

  Breifly it is about a response to an article he wrote a couple of weeks ago as a pro-atheist and the respnses he received from religous people . he also has a spot as host on Radio 3AW in melbourne .

  He then talks about the up coming convention at Etihad Stadium of jehovahs witnesses and some of their weird beleifs.

  He then talks about a 21 year old girl who defends the shunning process on his talk back radio program which he didnt appreciate.

  Overall an interesting article if you can read it wherever you are .

  I sent him an e-mail in relation to his article , if you read it you might like to do so as well. His details are as follows.

  I would love to see a lot more of this sort of thing, I am sure that though UberDubs will dismiss such articles and programmes as "persecution", it will make those JW's who still have a mind do some thinking.

  I know that such articles etc did that to me when I was active, I can remeber thinking "But we are like that".

  Though it may have been some years before I finally woke up and left, this kind of thing helped.

  I received a couple of replys from the journalist I e-mailed , he said he was happy I posted it on this site ,the more people that read it the better.

  He also stated what prompted him to investigate witness beleifs and write the article was because he was doorknocked by a witness who wouldnt take no for an answer .

  I have since sent a letter to the editor of the said newspaper regarding his description of them as weirdos suggesting that readers may want to use another term.I then refer them to the 1994 Awake article about the 26 children who died following the dictates of the organization refusing blood transfusions, then asking if children should should be put in a position to make life and death decisions , especially when 2 out of 3 born ins leave the religion upon obtaining adulthood.

  I hope it gets published , but you never know.

  If I could encourage more people to either e-mail the journalist or write a letter to the editor of the newspaper with your comments before the convention next week , that would be much appreciated . Why ? because it may get our viewpoint out their also .And dont hold back if you are overseas , the more people that comment the better .
