    Miracles still happen, eh?

Centuries of misrepresentation and persecution of gay people may be about to end, as far as the Catholic church is concerned.

More than 200 bishops have been taking part in the synod since 5 October. It was convened by Pope Francis to debate abortion, contraception, homosexuality and divorce.

Monday's report, issued half-way through the two-week meeting, said:

"Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer to the Christian community.

    And asked,

"Are we capable of welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a fraternal space in our communities?"

That means JWs and Baptists will only take another 150 years to catch up...

Persecution doesn't work. The Catholic history shows this from the time of the Crusades, Inquisition, and Witch Burnings. The homosexual community has suffered a long history of persecution at the hand of religion. It needs to come to an end.

The JWs will love this. Just another thing to point to that proves that they're the only true religion (since, apparently, your choices are JW or catholic...)

Shows how religion can adaprt to the times and changed legal environment.

It's simple math: do we gain or keep more followers by changing than the ones we'll lose due to the change.

Major religions CAN make major changes if the right pressure is applied.

But credit too for the new pope - he almost makes me want to be a catholic!

None of it matters, though. It's too late.

Religion X, Y, Z can kiss my homosexual butt!
