I'm thinking there is some sort of mushroom or seaweed thing going on there....
Pretty unappetizing for a westerner, but I'm sure the Japanese salivate over it....

ok--i cheated. its a rival product:
Burger King Japan unveils it's new all-black burger. Black bun, black cheese, black sauce (made from squid-ink.) Would you eat it?

I will eat almost anything, if I like the idea, and if I know what is in it, the look doesn't phase me.
The problem for me is, most burgers are total sh**e , if the actual "patty" or meaty part, is not made from top quality ingredients and made with both skill and love, then I don't want to know. Also the Bun must be good quality grain, not white sh**e.
I will give it a try, once, as long as I am assured of the above, otherwise , you can shove it where the sun don't shine, which it looks like is the place it belongs.
