Yes, with the whisps of cloud acting as a substitue FILTER, the moon has nibbled at the sun's right upper corner.
Now, a clear spot in the sky overhead, bluer than normal, and the bottom part of the sun missing on the Image in our pin-hole camera.
The lesson of this perfect alignment of these "Witnesses" in the heavens ?
If you want precise predictions about the Future,
go to Science, not the GB, FADS, the bible.
On the east coast, the sun was just getting below the treeline. I didn't see anything.
I live in Mill Creek, it hasn't stopped raining long enough to tell.
Another lesson: some sciences are more precise than others. Astronomy forcasts aligning orbits centuries in advance, weatherforecasting more by the week, minutes even.
Seattle is great, but not that great.
WT writers can predict apparently overlapping orbits er generations ending only within 170 years, take or leave a few.
Could this be the celestial phenomena spoken about as a sign of the Time of the End?
Could it?
Well.....................

DesirousOfChange, no, these are not Omens of the desired Change, but great Optical spectacles to be savoured. I was for the first time impressed by the darkened deep blue sky, half-way to the total darkness of a full eclipse, and the brilliant clouds by contrast. Our astronomy society had t-scopes and cameras and got good shots showing the sunspots just below the moons silhouette. Striking too how evenly the diameter of the Moon and Sun are matched from our perspective.
Had we had showers too, as the forcast said, we could have had the eclipse in the south/west and rainbows in the wrth/west at the same time. greedy greedy.
There is supposed to be a super anouncement about images of exo-planetery formation done by ALMA in Chile -coming next week.
It's not magic, it's science, relax.
