Disassociating: Is now the time ?

A couple of thoughts on DA ing that I have just had, prompted by the latest cases coming to Court over historic child abuse.

My first thought was, although I have resisted being DF'd, and have not voluntarily DA'd for family reasons, I am now thinking perhaps it is too embarrassing to not Publically be disassociated from this Paedophile Paradise.

I feel I wish to let the community know that I have nothing to do with the JW's anymore.

My second thought is that if I do decide to take the step of DA ing myself, I will not send the DA letter to the Congregation Elders, but to the local Newspapers, so that my reasons for DA ing are known to all JW's locally, straight from me, not from twisted rumours.

I may have to pay to have it published, but so what.

    Thoughts ?

I guess if you get it printed in the papers then it's doing it on your terms and reaching a section of the public that will see that the JW corporations are riddled with paedos and corrupt to the core. The Jws of course will still have their rumours about the 'real reasons' you DA'd that are not in the paper. The JWs only have rumours left in their empty lives. The rumours about me are hilarious, ranging from being a 'false prophet' to a Baptist minister. Deary me! Sad bustards!

I always felt that to write to the congo-abongo-I to DA then you are obeying and acknowleding their rules.

Who cares about the WBT$ rules?

Sending your DA letter to the newspaper would be a unique move. Having them publish it would embarrass the hell out of the local JW's. If you go this route ensure it's worded to where the Watchtower can't come back on you for slander or libel.

Just me maybe, but unless it is for children or other family members to feel free to move on, I think DA'ing is for oneself. The average JW is not going to even feel comfortable reading your letter but friends probably would. Then the friends will attribute your valid points to mental diseased apostasy or weakness toward sin. As far as the community, they don't really understand these things at all.

But if you are going to start doing things that are guaranteed to get you DF'ed, there's nothing wrong with beating them to the punch and hoping a few friends read your reasons. And I do like the idea of a public DA as a way of declaring one's independence.

AlphaMan makes a good point about slander or libel . You would really have to word your letter carefully and maybe get a laywer to look it over as well . The org would be out to get you if you show them up in such a public way . Having said that , what good fun to go out in a blaze of glory .

yes--that was my immediate thought too----maybe taking legal advise first would be wise.

can you post a copy of your letter on jwn if you do go ahead.? i like the idea. hopefull more will take the same route.

I am not 100% set on doing it, and will not for a short while, as there is a JW family crisis going on, which will resolve itself before long, but till then at least, no action from me.

But, if I do, I shall post the letter/Article on here of course.

Perhaps a few quotes from a "JW" publication about Why it is wise to examine one religion? Not in good conscience being able to support WTBTS stance on Child abuse and____? Look forward to reading it!

The local paper may not print it. Ours would not re-print this weekend's AP Molestation stories or the Conti case despite proddings.
