As the title says: How long does it take to be inactive in FS before some elders comes knocking on the door? Or calling or whatever... Any experiences? How was it for you guys? Just wanna be prepared if it would happen.

Depends entirely on the diligence of your local B of E .. They are supposed to "shepherd the flock" and see you well before you become "inactive" (6 months no reports) . Many on here speak of being hounded quickly.

In my case, ....they have never bothered with me in many years . I have never had a home visit instigated by them. I guess they view me as a lost cause.

Yes, depending on their personalities, you might hear from them as soon as you become "irregular" (a zero-hour month within the last 6 months), or after a couple months of irregularity when it becomes clear that the first month wasn't a fluke.

Unless you are a member of an influential JW family and have privileges greater than mic handler, the elders will not attempt to check on you as they are too busy with their busy-work like talks/meeting parts, building committee projects, etc.

As said 6 months is the magic threshold to achieve "inactive" status.

My PO at the time tried to use the fact that I would be classed as inactive if I ddnt do any service in the next month as a guilt / threat mechanism to make me go in service. I wasnt ever going out again as I was well on my way to knowing the truth about "the truth".

If you mean you are already inactive and are awaiting the elders to try and reactivate you then your mileage will vary depending on how many nazi elders you have. If you are still attending meetings and assemblies etc then yes, you can expect repeated efforts to "help" you. That is one good reason to stop attending, you fall off the radar.

We had not recieved one phone call or visit for well over a year. And even then it was an elder and his wife just passing through and wanting to buy some meat from us. On my judicial hearing tape, he admitted to saying he thought that was a shepherding call that day. He was here for five minutes and not once spoke to me but sent his wife up to the house for a quick little shit chat. When I told him that I didn't even get one phone call said he thought he sent out an email to someone's address. His exact words and they are on tape.

The only reason they gave us that visit was because they knew we found out about them covering over this one guy in the congregation and the co was coming in a few weeks so they had to make us look like dirt before they looked like dirt first. We hadn't been out in service for almost a year and still no phone call for our time. It all depends on how quiet you stay and don't rock the boat with any of them. Then again, they are all a bunch of dingadongadongadingas. With no educational training but the watchtowers, they certainly can be drama pricks or like Bluesbrothers experience- a no show.

I think it just depends on your local elders.

Looking back I realize I was one of the hounders. I was a Cool-aid drinking, over earnest Elder who pestered everyone for their time and would coach people to turn in even one hour. I also visited inactive JWs in the territory every couple of months, to be honest I just felt people were burned out or discouraged would would leave the book bag and tie in the car. I never once even thought someone was a festering apostate, nor did I admonish someone who had "Questions".

Officially you are Inactive after 6 months(unless someone turned in 15 minutes for you), but some C.O.s will make sure you are called and visited during their visit for a year or two...unless the elders can tell him you moved.
