Here is an email I got 5 minutes before Dateline was on:
I can't tell you how many of these emails I got today from my witnessI have asked this person to explain the blatant hypocrisy of the Society in that they have had numerous articles over the last 29 years or so, yet have the audacity to post a video from a supposed expert on their website who claims society didn't consider pedophilia a crime, or know the emotional trauma that would result from not bringing it in the open.
friends.......I was also informed that a letter was read at the meetings this week from the society about the program and that we should watch it......Our cong didn't read it because we didn't get it in time.TUESDAY, MAY 28 - 10:00 PM ET
Dateline NBC investigates allegations that Jehovah's Witness members
have covered up cases of child molestation in the Church. Dateline
Correspondent John Larson talked to former and current Jehovah's
Witnesses who say that Church elders protected the alleged molesters
and kept secrets that might have put children at risk.http://www.msnbc.com/onair/default.asp?program=Dateline%20NBC
I've been suggesting that we follow the society's own lead in this
matter. One of the videos on the society's web site addresses this issue by talking about our publications. A number of cover articles on the subject are shown.http://www.jw-media.org/releases/default.htm?content=/vnr/default.htm>;
This is a time to dig out the BVs and make photocopies of some of the
recent articles. Not printouts from the CD but photocopies, they carry
more weight as history than a printout.They make it clear we have been addressing this issue for years.
Can anyone validate the statement that the Society sent a letter to the congregations urging rank and file to watch Dateline?
