Remember Counsel To AVOID The Courts?

I do. I also remember being told from the platform that going to court when differences between "brothers" could be handled privately would only "besmirch" 'hovah's name. These comments from the platform were made on a regular basis throughout the 11 years of my association with 'hovahs.

These pedophile cases are not isolated incidents when it comes to the victims being told not to go to the authorities. I'm sure many others can remember the same thing. "Besmirching" 'hovah's name really means shedding a negative light on the WTS's reputation.

    Right on, TR!

    Courts are a no-no withing the JW's.
There isn't anything that the elder's can't handle.
They are well trained and well-equipped to handle any situation that may arise.
So they say, so they think.

    You are correct TR.

I mentioned this to my Mom last night. I told her that JR Brown saying that the elders were just like other clergy was telling....she did not understand.

I explained that if they are just like other clergy in keeping secrets then they and their organization (WTBTS) can be held liable for harmful actions....

I asked her if the society will back up the elders who might be sued? No she firmly stated...they are watching their own asses.

She said it would be sad if elders got sued, however, they would deserve it!! If they covered up or did not report a molestor, they should be liable!!
