When I look back at it, I must apologize to anyone that was disfellowshipped for the treatment we gave to you. We clearly set ourselves up as judges and often viewed disfellowshipped persons as "dead"! I hope anyone that is still in the congregation knows that this treatment is unchristian, unkind and unloving.
Disfellowshipped "People" Are Treated Like Sh*t!

The Witness mentality is akin to communism/Nazism - it's inculcated fear of the consequences of not being 100% obedient to the dictatorship's propaganda.

Searcher, that is also known as a cult.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't see former members as STRAY SHEEP to be rescued.
They aren't worth reclaiming.
In fact, they seem to think priority number one for a stray is persuading the rest of the flock
of excellent reasons to abandon the shepherd.
You know what is missing from this calculus is the value of human life.
Meaning what? Each and every person has value, even if that person doesn't agree with you.
The insecurity about the binding power of their "Truth" is quite telling.

They really don't care about the person.

Divergent
I just finished watching Londo's video about how he went to the elders for help but ended up getting disfellowshipped instead. Adding on to Terry's comment, JW's don't even see CURRENT members who are "spiritually weak" / inactive as stray sheep waiting to be rescued. They are viewed as more of a liability to the congregation instead. Even though not disfellowshipped, they are often treated as if they are. It's not a wonder then that so many end up leaving the "truth" as a result of the lack of love shown towards them!

Two things here.
(1) Who did jesus shun.
(2) It amazes me how an organisation will spend billions of dollars and countless man hours trying to get a new recruit, and yet will kick them out and forget about them at the other end.

Last weeks book study section was a wonderful lot of paragraphs stressing the need to never judge one another etc.
It highlighted the need to be always loving, never jumping to wrong thoughts as well!
So in theory, it was a "nice" study....lots of ones answered in their hypocritical ways too.
THEN the very next subheading went into detail about why it is LOVING and necessary to disfellowship any who disagree with the teachings of the organisation!
What a manipulative mind f@%k!
