God cannot be an atheist because he loves his son jesus, who is referred to as a god in the bible.
If he thinks he is the Supreme Being, how does he know ? there may be one, or more, Beings above him, but as yet not revealed to him, he cannot know he is the top of the tree.
God being an atheist would be a strangely compelling irony...
