When they annouce that a 1 day assembly cost $30,000, do they pull that number out of their hienie? I'm sure SOMEBODY on this site had been part of the paperwork trail for that. For a building that's paid off, do they really have that many expenses and add them all up and divide by weeks of the month or make up a high inflated number to send a big bonus to WT?
How is assembly / district cost figured out?

Most recent pedophilia case lost in court, divided by number of attendees = per publisher rent cost.

I believe the User Fees are designed to produce DOUBLE the cost of operations so that 50% of all receipts can be forwarded to the WTS as a donation. Plus, the CirAssm is where all the expenses of the CO & DO that are too excessive to dump onto a single Congregation are covered.
A good analogy in the other thread about the Elders voting like the Russian Parliment. If the CO or DO asked the Assm Overseer to cover this expense, he will present it in the Elders Business Meeting as a necessary expense, or even asking "don't you think we should do this for these brothers who work soooo hard to serve us?" All in favor? (Everyone) Dissenters will be silenced. If you want to look for any serving Elder that has awakened to TTATT, look for ones that simply fail to vote. To dissent would bring on a shitstorm, but sitting on your hands is likely to be overlooked as failure to pay attention to the BS meeting.
