Hey I`m with the pope on this one . Animals have been given a right royal dud deal here .
Jehovah approves sacrificing his animal creation from Abel over his brother Cain who offered the first fruits of the land. ( wasnt that more acceptable ?)
Throughout history it has been demonstrated and proved that one living thing exists on devouring another living thing , whether it is in the sea , or on land , or with the birds of heaven , and even in the micro-biological world its the same story.
I would hope they have a better deal than what they were delt with .

It would not be necessary for Simon or another Mod to be troubled with Merging if people would only read what is already on here.
Quite often too it is evident that people have not read a thread they are commenting on, so they post what they think is an original thought which has already been posted by someone quicker of brain than they are.
It's probably a hang-over from being a JW, years of not listening and not reading, being lazy in mind, has made such lack of effort a habit.
Can you imagine all the time it would take to monitor the board that closely, esp. for a non-paid gig?
I'm just glad SImon didn't shut the board down awhile back. Grateful for all his and the mods work.

Merging two topics together could make for a very disjointed / confusing conversation - splitting a topic apart is probably easier but still pretty challenging.
Maybe a better solution would be something to show you similar topics within the last day (?) based on what you are submitting. It could be while you type or after you post (let you review and then chose whether to continue posting it).
Sometimes you get a few topics on the same subject but from slightly different angles.
