Perhaps one affect the Dateline program will have is to filter some of the "weaker", leaving behind more of the "hardened".
Perhaps this will result in more of the good people leaving and the Society becoming an even more closed and controlling environment.

I can see that hypothesis. Hardening up and killing off the 'weak'.
I imagine there'll be an attempt to exert more control, but not a lot is going to work - as the older ones die off and the women of the generations of the seventies and later become the average, there'll be less tolerance for all that kind of crap.

I have spoken with a number of JW women around my age (born in the 50's and 60's) and on a whole they are not as gullible as the older generation. They are not willing to sit around and take any crap the WT dishes out. So its either the WT change or they will stay at a negative growth rate.

Substitute "Smarter" for "Weaker" and "Hard Headed and Ignorant" for harder, and I have to agree. I understand the Witness jargon context from which you chose the words but I would rather use honest and normal terms for these self-serving SLIMEBALLS.

As an older guy who left on his own steam and swam upstream alone until the internet, I have to say that being gullible wasn't the problem, being informed was. What you have available today is great. It was a lot harder to get the facts back in "the day." However quite a few managed to do it and stood alone. Then when the internet happened they were right there to help inform the world as to just what the Witnesses are really all about. I have never felt happier than when I discovered H20 and found out I was "legion."
It seems more and more of those without heard hearts are either leaving,drifting away,going nuts or getting booted,so more of those left are the thick skinned,hang in whatever type who support the Wachtower like football club fans,
