Wakeup Call for Sister-in-law

  Last evening my cell phone rang and it was a sister-in-law of mine who had left her JW husband (one of my older brothers) because he was molesting their daughters and the elders blamed her for not being an adequate wife. She left and was df'd for it. Anyway, we have had correspondence for the past four or five years but never did we talk about the "private" matters.

  Last night she was so animated she could hardly contain herself. She knew that there were problems in the half dozen congregations she had interactions with but had no idea how prevalent it was until she watched Dateline. Mind you, this was by shear accident that she had the tv on and her friend called out that a JW program was on. She said she was so relieved to know that she wasn't crazy, that the Borg had always made her feel so guilty. Now she says she can get on with her life knowing that the world at large has a little taste of how bad it is in the "society".

  She wore my battery down talking for nearly an hour. So, for one very anxious Df'd dub, the program brought great relief.

  Thanks for sharing the information. I'm glad that she realizes that she's not crazy. Their was merit to her thinking. Hopefully she can get along in her life. Please extend my thoughts and concerns to her.

  This is the best thing I could ever have read... That someone because of the Dateline show is able to step out of the guilt prison the JW religion puts people in, is the best news in the world to me.

  I hope Bill, Barb and the others read this so that they will know what their efforts have produced. They are not only helping victims but families of victims.

  Carmel, maybe you should email Bill and share this with him, I'm sure it would make his day or even better maybe you could get your sister- in-law to send him a "Thank You" email.

  Good way to silence the opposition, eh? When she was df'd - no jw would ever talk to her again, thus she posed little threat of exposing the nasty side of the WTBTS.

  She said she was so relieved to know that she wasn't crazy, that the Borg had always made her feel so guilty.

  I think a decent amount of jw's leaving the Borg think they MUST be the crazy one......as the Borg had all the answers.......and now the leavers are loosing what is perceived as EVERYTHING. And the guilt is awesome as the WTBTS hangs the murder of their children in front of them. "Your children will die at Armageddon if you don't stay in Jehovah's Organization." What they really mean is that "God is going to kill your children if you leave the Society."

  Now she says she can get on with her life knowing that the world at large has a little taste of how bad it is in the "society".

  "Your children will die at Armageddon if you don't stay in Jehovah's Organization." What they really mean is that "God is going to kill your children if you leave the Society."

  This reminded me of a Bethel speaker's comment when referring to the death of little children, even BABIES, at Armeggedon.

  I don't remember his name (help me out here y'all) but he said, "little rats grow up to be big rats."

  Can you believe the audacity of such a statement?

  is it not amazing how guys like YOU KNOW never make comments on post like this

  this is one thing i often point out to nonjw here in the server room when we surf the net looking at all the goofy jw comments

  rarely do they have anything good to say about a person who has gotten some relief
