    Just how angery are you?

How badly has the JW experience affected you?
At the moment I'm very angery at the organisation.
    Why?
Well my dad has just been rudhed into hospital for the second time in 4 months.
This time there a lump in one of his lungs , which looks like cancer.
    My father is 52.
So far nothing to do with the society.
My mum looks after one of my sisters almost full time.My sister was once diagnosed with ME now they know she has a problem with her heart.
So my mother carnt work much which means my father is the main provider.
Last time he was in hospital they used up all their savings , as my dad is selfemployed and has no benifits for being off work apart from a small amount the goverment gives you after about 8 weeks.
So how is this in any way related to the society?
Well my parents have no money , my sister is ill and my father is ill.
My parents were told week after week to put the kingdom first.
After finishing work on every night my father would either do the family study prepear for talks and other things as an elder.
On the weekend go on the ministry and attend the meetings giving talks when asked.
Often he was asked to go away for the weekend on quick builds.
All this sapped the energy of my father so that in the week when working he was tired.
He couldn't put his full energies into working. He couldn't do overtime due to meetings and studying or work weekends.
For years and years and years.
All because the society make you feel guilty if you do not do this. They make you think Jehovah is not happy with you , that if you put your life into the org so it can suck it dry , you can live forever.
Yet now due to his efforts to do so they are now stuck. They have no money no pension and my father is ill.
They now have to rely on their children.
So were is the ever loving org in all this?
Why arent they there to help those who have given their lives to them?
Why aren't they helping out those who gave their time and lives to them, building their halls giving their talks , selling their magazines?
They are no where to be found.
They have no desire to help such people.
They are left to rot as far as they are concerned.
They don't care at all about these people all they care about is themselves.
If the society was the loving organisation it claims to be they would be falling over themselves to provide finacial support for those who have built them, giving their time and money.

Instead they continue to strangle the life out of people with false hopes and promises in order to built the organisation.
My father will get nothing in return for his efforts to help.
If he can work again I hope he sees the wisdom in using his time to build funds for his retirement instead of putting it back in the org.
If not them his children will provide for him.
    The society wont.
    Thats why I am angery.

(((((sleepy))))))) Sorry to hear about your Dad. My mum had lung cancer too, and died at 55, so I can somehow relate to your story.

Has the congregation been notified of your father's hospitalisation? Does your mum have any friends that could help out in preparing meals, housework etc while she cares for both your Dad and sister?

The congregation will help to a degree.
But the society as "Gods organisation" will do nothing.

Why is there no fund for the elderly?
I know some congs willl provide this , but its the society whos got the money, yet again the burden is put upon the poor witnesses while the men at brooklyn fail to lift a finger.

Sleepy, I am very sorry for what you all have been going through and send my most heartfelt wishes for the best of luck and healthe for your father and family.

The fact that this negligence of spiritual and material responsibility is exhibited by an organization which basically claims to be god on earth, is proof enough of the extent of the lie.

But I believe one thing is true, the truth and 'god' is in your hearts, as it always has been. No one and nothing, has, or ever will for a moment ever take that away from any of you.

Listen to your heart and take comfort there, all the strength you will ever need is there.

WE are here for you too,

    anger is pointless.

Fear leads to anger, the fear the Watchtower drummed into you, controlled you with leads to anger on your part. This anger then consumes you and leads to hatred, which in turn leads to suffering - either your suffering, others suffering, or both. Hence you are on the path to the dark side.

Well, the force isnt real, but it does speak truth in that fear, anger and hatred are things to be avoided and ultimately lead to suffering and pain.

The Watchtower WANT you to be angry, WANT you to be spiritually dead, they have no regard for life else they would not be what they are now. Do you really want to continue feeding the Watchtower by bearing their fruits?

The ultimate way to beat the Watchtower totally is to forgive them unconditionally, do not continue to bear their rotten fruits. The sooner people realise that this is the only way, the better. However in practice this is extremely difficult as the damage they do to people is immense, but it can at least be attempted.

Anger is a natural reaction in this situation, and is not based on fear. Yes, if uncontrolled, it could lead to rage, darkness, etc.

But at the end of Sleepy's post, he reaches a conclusion that is not rage-filled:

If he can work again I hope he sees the wisdom in using his time to build funds for his retirement instead of putting it back in the org. If not them his children will provide for him.
He then went on to confirm his anger, but it is not uncontrolled but rationally expressed. If you feel anger, you've got to do something with it...redirect the thoughts, explore options, try to make the best out of a bad situation. Sleepy has done that. I don't see any "destroy the Watchtower" rhetoric, even though he is very angry at the system that misleads people, and has spelled out in detail why so.

I'm glad we have a forum such as this to "vent" our feelings, even negative ones. It's a safety valve of sorts.

Sleepy, I'm going to second logicaly's post. Avoid wasting your time and energies for things you cannot change. If anything, you'll end getting sick, all for what, for something you have no control over and that is the mistreatment that thia org practices on her followers. Expend your energies and time on your family and life.

Millions can relate to your dad's experience including myself. I've been meaning to write a similiar letter. With all the time and service that one put's into this org. what do they get in return. Just an empty promise. How many promises have the org. made? Just think of all the dates they posted in their publications that have not materilized and now someone said their talking about the year 2005?

Am I angry? No, disappointed, yes. Move with the tide.

This bit seems to descibe the situation.

"do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do to be seen by men."

Even if helping, is it with one of their fingers?
    Somehow I don't think so.

Put it in the letter - they seem to listen to Bible things in preference to their own naturally given knowledge of decency (especially bits that have an easily read message).
