Are civic duties curbing your dog and picking up his/her droppings? Volunteering to clean your local neighborhood? Does it include being an administrator/councilman in your locale? What restrictions are there for any JW to get involve in local community issues/services?

While my kids were growing up I trained them to respect things around them, like picking up trash, etc. Of course as JWs we limited our participation in civic activities beyond the very basics. We did not attend community meetings to discuss issues, nor did we vote or voice our concerns on a public forum ... basic obedience to laws and regulations are all that JWs will do ...

... the JWs thinks of themselves as 'good citizens' because they stay out of trouble, like not speeding or robbing banks ... they fail, however, to understand that being a good citizen often means going the extra mile, and making positive, proactive contributions to the community.

    Amazing,
I agree with you except for the part about speeding...I think a conservative estimate would be 80% speed on their way to and from Ass-emblies! Of course speeding is not really breaking one of Caesar's laws if there's a chance of being late for the opening prayer!
