You may always have believed that the preaching work was directed by Jesus, who in his parting words to his disciples said:
"All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things." (Matthew 28: 18-20)
You may also remember that Jesus said:
" But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you." (John 14:26)
Strange, then, to read this statement in the April 2001 Kingdom Ministry (back page):
"Our love is the force behind the worldwide preaching work."
On so many occasions, even subtly, the Writing Department are obscuring the role of Jesus in the congregations. The Holy Spirit does not get a look-in except as with "the spirit-directed organsiation".
