Crime and the WT - a much bigger issue

In treating criminal acts as "congregational matters" rather than criminal ones, the Watchtower Society is providing a safe haven for all types of criminals. Their policies have far greater implications than just the tragic pedophile cover-up. While the WT society may not be "robbing the bank", they are most certainly "driving the getaway car" and are therefore a willing accomplice to all sorts of crime. After all the "two witness" rule applies across the board. We are talking about felony crimes here!! I am thankful to live in a country that has higher moral laws than those of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In the Watchtower world, their own image is the only god they worship and protect at ANY cost. In their feeble attempt to protect that image they appear all the more guilty by refusing to appear on Dateline. When you're guilty - run! "Subject yourselves to God; but oppose the Devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7 (New Word Mis-translation) Who is being opposed? Who is fleeing?...

Conspiring to conduct interstate coverups for pedophiles, murderers etc which put innocent, unknowing persons at high risk of rape, death and like is a racketeering crime. Why hasn't someone notified the FBI? Or have they??

When I was younger a criminal came to hide out in the congregation. He studied, got baptized, married one of the sisters and then about four months after their marriage the police found him and arrested him. That was one of the biggest scandals I had ever known of (up until that time).

His wife told my mother than he said that he knew that he could "hide in plain sight" just by being among the witnesses.

This is such a no-brainer for any district atroney. Their own literature, they order pedophiles, even suspected pedophiles, to be treated with respect and confidentiality, and the victims/survivors expelled, shunned, or both---even when they are children.

Yes, when IS the government going to get involved?

    WHEN WHEN WHEN !!!!

There are multiple lesser crimes being committed through the practice of lying and having no regard for 'outsiders'.

After my experience with dubs, I consider that in any matter of importance I must simply assume that a jw (even ex-jw) may very well be lying and on that basis not to be trusted, and considering the idea of 'theocratic warfare', not simply mistrusted but handled with a high level of suspicion.

This may sound offensive to ex-jws, but when an ex-anything else decides to return to the fold from time to time, it doesn't usually include being a liar too.

I remember this was one of my issues of cognitive dissonance. Once my book study conductor told me:

"We are the Catholic Confessional. If someone confesses to murder, we keep it confidential...."

I wanted to throw up. I remember saying to him (since I always had a problem of disrespecting idiotic elders) that "I thought we had higher standards than the Catholic Church."

He said, "This is the direction of the slave! Period." NO further explanation to make me feel more at ease with it. No regret at having been so indiscreet as to say this to everyone at a goody night after a book study.

I looked around and NO ONE else seemed to be bothered. But I bitched about it to my husband later on.

I said, "Well, why the hell do we tell people that the organization is clean if we would be willing to harbor criminals? And why did I tell my brother that I dont' even watch my purse at the Kingdom Hall?"

Wow, thinking back, this was early on. I was thinking this way even before getting dunked. Too bad I didn't act on it sooner.
