Argy's are a bit sore over the loss! They can't complain. They have had their fair share of luck in the past. If you sink Owen 'The Belgrano' within the 'exclusion zone'...what do you expect?

Argentinians blame defeat on choice of shirt

Argentina's top sports paper says they lost to England because the players were wearing the wrong shirts.

Olé says Argentina always loses to England when it wears traditional blue and white.

The two countries have met in five World Cups. England beat Argentina in Chile in 1962, England in 1966 and now in Korea-Japan. Each time players were wearing their blue and white shirts.

But Argentina beat England in Mexico in 1986 and France in 1998 when the team was wearing its all-blue change strip.

The newspaper says: "Whether you believe it or not, the shirt has been critical."

Meanwhile a crowd of students in Córdoba burned an English flag after their team's 1-0 defeat.

They also complained they had been robbed by the decision to award England a penalty.

Crowds also took to the streets of Buenos Aires following the first round game, blocking the main access roads to the capital's historic centre.

Police reported thousands of fans carrying banners and wearing the Argentina strip were congregating in the Obelisco area of the city. They said the situation remained calm despite serious traffic problems.

Sore Losers. I guess they couldn't cheat their way to a win as is usual so they got a little upset.
