I post this on the desperately seeking category, because that was her first movie.
I would suggest that the following madonna song can be taken on three levels. Most people can readily see two of them. I draw attention to another level, the spiritual one. The following quote provides the key.
    Kisses sent from heaven above
They get sweeter and sweeter the more that I know
One who has explored the spiritual through meditation or something similar is most likely able to relate the rest of the lyrics to a spiritual journey, as well as the other 2 ways. Madonna is currently into yoga. She was also studying kaballa some time ago. I hope one day she will write a book about what she has learned in her life. Comments on this theory, anyone?
Following are the rest of the lyrics for the song.
    Deeper And Deeper

written by M. Ciccone, S. Pettibone, and T. Shimkin
    Track 4, Time: 5:33
    -------------------------
Deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper
Sweeter and sweeter and sweeter and sweeter

    Chorus:

I can't help falling in love
I fall deeper and deeper the further I go
    Kisses sent from heaven above
They get sweeter and sweeter the more that I know

When you know the notes to sing
    You can sing most anything
That's what my mama told me
Round and round and round you go
When you find love you'll always know
I let my father mold me

    Bridge:

    Daddy couldn't be all wrong
[Not gonna let you slip away, I'm gonna be there]
And my mama made me learn this song
[You're gonna bring your love to me, I'm gonna get you]
    That's why

    (chorus)

    The deeper I go
All is fair in love she said
Think with your heart, not with your head
That's what my mama told me
All the little things you do
Will end up coming back to you
I let my father mold me

    (bridge)
    (chorus, repeat)

Someone said that romance was dead
And I believed it instead of remembering
    What my mama told me
    Let my father mold me
Then you tried to hold me
You remind me what they said
    This feeling inside
    I can't explain
    But my love is alive
And I'm never gonna hide it again

    (bridge)
    (chorus)

Deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper
    Never gonna hide it again
Sweeter and sweeter and sweeter and sweeter
    Never gonna have to pretend
    (repeat)

You got to just let your body move to the music
You got to just let your body go with the flow
Falling in love, falling in love, falling in love
I can't keep from falling in love with you
You know there's nothing better that I'd like to do

Actually this song is about homosexuality, from what i read once...it's about miner ("I fall deeper and deeper" into the mining shaft) who figures out he likes guys.
So it true? Or is this something like rumor...I've got the liner notes to Madonna Greatest hits 2 and they make mention of it, but it's mostly of obnoxious jokes, so I don't know. clue me in.

    Kisses from heaven above huh?

Well, maybe shes involved in conubials with a fallen angel or cherubim and is going to give birth to one of the second wave of NEPHILIM".

    With her, nothing would surprise.

Madonna?! Are you kidding me? If anyone tries to gather deep spiritual meaning from a person who studied Kabbala in a three week night course at a community college in the valley, then they are seriously misguided. That woman was done as soon as she took her clothes off. As far as I'm concerned, she fits in the same category as the Back Door Boys, n'Stink, and the SpiceDouchebags. Society would be much better off without their existence. Calling her overrated is giving her a complement.

    Don't get me started.
