I wrote about this before...somewhere. The WTBTS could adjust the 144,000 doctrine at least once, before they are forced to make it a symbolic number due to the constant rise in partakers.
They could combine the new FDS dogma with the 144,000 being comprised of ONLY those who are directly involved in dispensing spiritual food, those associated with world headquarters.
The beauty lies in the fact that poor J-dumbs assume that if you are in any position of oversight then you MUST be more spiritually qualified. Therefore, the odds of a partaken being "genuine" must be higher at HQ. Crazy old DD, who doesn't run a microphone and complains about serious issues withing the Org, is easy to dismiss as "emotionally disturbed", whereas Brother Yes-man/blood committee or Brother Brownnoser/Warwick McFree labor is readily accepted as "spiritual".
With that programmed thinking in mind, it's easy to see that the GB could stop the character bashing articles about "professed" anointed, and simply release a new "shelved idea" that the GB "loves"!!
Simply put, the FDS are only those anointed at HQ DIRECTLY involved in directing the spiritual feeding program, aka the GB. ( This was the final STFU to "professed anointed") As the older generation die off, the GB can simply adjust the 144,000 to mean something else. After all, it's a bit ambiguous and Bullet Head Splane just preached about not giving meaning to something when the bible is not clear. ( that's a lot of wiggle room)
So.... it COULD be that Jesus was "evidently" saying that those genuine or "finally sealed" members of the FDS in "the last days" would be directly involved in oversight of the spiritual feeding of the "other sheep". While not directly condemning local partakers, it effectively serves the same purpose, much like the new Memorial outline.
The WTBTS/GB could easily convince the vast majority of Dubs that only a relatively small number of genuine anointed have been "directly involved in spiritually feeding/oversight" of Jehovahs people since JESUS left the earth. Also, there are weeds among the wheat, so we can't judge. ( LOL! Remember they just had an article about being suspicious of apostates in the ORG, but then said," don't suspect or judge" LOL!!)
I don't expect them to change the 144,000 anytime soon, they have too much going on. No more boat-rocking until Warwick is done. The dubs are fired up and believe that they are constructing the last home of the GB on Earth! ( I shit you not, I have read letters from the local RBC, begging for volunteers! LOL!!)
Imagine it's 2020, the END is not here. The still living GB and helpers "adjust" the meaning/significants of the 144,000. Simply do the math!
144,000 ( out of HQ only ) + Overlapping Generation = SOON
144,000 ( symbolic from HQ )+ OG = SOON x infinity
The overlapped are anointed who live to see the GT! When is the GT?? We don't know. As long as there is preaching to be done, Jeehoobie's chariot will keep rolling! Who of the 144,000 are "sealed"?? We can't say, but it's logical that they would be DIRECTLY overseeing the preaching work and be persecuted for it. Brothers, were we not persecuted by Satan's legal system and his greedy human apostates?!?! ( LOL!!)
I have to laugh to stay sane. I will laugh even harder when they make the changes that must surely come with the passage of time. Right now they are trying to make the most of their borrowed time. The rule of the day will be business as usual, deflect, distract, dazzle the R&F with bells and whistles, all the while the endless treadmill of "Soon" continues to roll on.
