It is possible to recieve dateline over here. It is on at the weekends (on Sky digital) at around midnight Saturday or was it Sunday, anyway.............
If you have Sky look in you program menu on Saturady, for CNBC and go across and you should find Dateline Europe. It's called Dateline Europe but they air the U.S progs. Agaian its' on late at about 12 midnight - 1:30 a.m.
I have taped Dateline twice now to try and catch the Child Abuse Doc. There was an half hour documentary on the Catholic Church Child Abuse crisis. Maybe our U.S friends could help us here, did the Catholic Church part air before or after the JW one. If they air them in the same order maybe we could still be in with a chance of videoing it.
If you have Sky, or are in Europe and can get CNBC, you can check their programme listing by going to channel 510 (CNBC) on Sky, and press 'tv' and then 'text' and you will get the CNBC text service, then go to page 186. Normally you will just get one page appear, but later in the week they put the full Dateline schedule up which is between three and six pages (still on the main text page 186) they are just the flip pages that change by themselve.
Hope this is of some help, at least you don't have to waste time waiting up just in case, as you can now check to see what Dateline programmes are scheduled to air. Mind you, if the New York NBC office has decided not to put he JW programme in the international version it will never air over here, my feeling is that it will never get shown here.
Cassiline very kindly sent me a video cassette of the dateline programme. It jumps slightly due to the 500-odd US lines system and the UK 625, but is watchable nonetheless. She suggested I pass it on when I had viewed it, you're welcome to it if you would like me to post it to you.
I almost feel I have see the prog because of the transcrips posted online, so I am not in too great a rush to view it. But it would be nice to ear everyones voices and get a better feel how it comes across. I'll let you know ........ thats if you haven't already passed it on that is.
I would be great if it could air over here on prime time TV instead of late. Most JW's would miss ii anyway!
