Why should a religion be granted tax exemptions for its money making endevors?

If they are making money through donations they should have to show where the money is going and to get exemptions by offering proof that the money thus is being used in a charitable way(feeding the poor etc...).

I feel it is only proper for them to pay property tax, unless they can show that the property is used more than 50% of the time for the benifit of charity free from the religious goals of gaining more members, thus more income. When religion grows weathy at the taxpayers expence, a massing buildings lavishly decorated should be taxed for such weath.

Perhaps I'm wrong but should not all be under the same law, reguardless of whether it is religion or just a person without religion. I think modern times need a more equitable way sharing wealth and not excluding religion from taxation, that operates as a business. WT.

    D Wlitshire,

Here Here ! As a religious organ-eye-zation they are guilty of not taking care of the widows and orphans. Their sole purpose is to make $$$ and bamboozle the average Joe out of their time and money. Tax the Bastards!

    Hello D. Wiltshire,

thanks for your comments. I did post quite sometime ago

the "defense" from Philip Brumley (WBTS Inc. attorney)

about the situation in many countries in Europe.

Sweden is currently taxing the WBTS Inc., France is

demanding millions of " Euros", Belgium and

Austria are not far away in the same road.

    Time are changing for everyone...including

the mighty publishing empire of the WBTS Inc.

    Greetings, J.C.MacHislopp

I have always felt religion should be taxed just the same as any other business. They can take deductions for their charitable endeavours.
