For those of you who like the astrology stuff I post... the Sun is now in Cancer. Here is what you all should expect.
(Stolen from Astrology.com)
June 21-July 21: The Sun's Transit of Cancer
For all of us, the Sun's transit of Cancer will be a time
of heightened emotional vulnerability, a time when you're
compelled to open your heart but scared to death of what
might happen if you do. It's a time when family comes to
the forefront of our minds and the needs of others take
precedence over our own. Give of your time, energy and
warm affections, but do not turn yourself into a martyr
(a common Cancerian impulse!)
Tears may flow more easily now, but don't worry: These do
not have to be thought of as tears of sadness. Instead,
think of your emotional response as a natural impulse to
reconnect with the flow of life, with the cycles of the
natural world. While you'll want to be near home, at least
venture out to the garden or a nearby park; you'll be
soothed by the sounds of streams and the wind through the
leaves of trees. Romance could progress to the next
level -- this could mean engagements or just moving in together!
Though the Sun's transit of Cancer is the biggest news in
the sky, some other celestial events will be making their
marks between now and the Sun's transit of Leo next month...
June 24 Full Moon at 3 degrees of Capricorn/Lunar Eclipse
If you're out on the patio late into the night enjoying
the company of family and friends, take a moment to look
up at the Full Moon in Capricorn hanging above. This
stabilizing lunar influence comes just in time; that
Cancer Sun could find you drifting back to look at the
past, but the Capricorn Moon pulls you back down to Earth.
This lunar phase asks that we reconnect with ourselves and
with our responsibilities, that we be present in the moment.
Especially influenced by this Moon will be Aries natives
born March 21-25, Cancers born June 22-27, Libras born
September 23-29 and Capricorns born December 22-27.
June 28 Venus Trine Pluto, Mercury Opposite Pluto
Sparks fly in romantic relationships when Venus Trines
Pluto. Love moves beyond playfulness and becomes a
transcendent experience. The smallest gestures of tenderness
touch your heart; everything feels infused with passion and
sincerity. Take advantage of the almost spiritual sense of
romance that permeates the air.
You know that saying about not knowing your own strength?
Well, when Mercury, Planet of Self-Expression, Opposes Pluto,
Planet of Power, your messages come across that way -- more
coarsely, brusquely and with more force than you intend them
to. People are easily offended by careless gestures now.
Think before you speak or act, and you'll be fine. On the
plus side, it's a great time to delve into research, so hit
the books!
July 2 Mercury Conjunct Saturn
Mercury, your Planet of Self-Expression, works closely with
Saturn, Planet of Karma, right now. Your skills as a deep
thinker and a logical planner are sharp, and the decisions
you make are practical and well researched. You'll get the
job done, but you won't necessarily get to bask in the glory
of your victory. Accept this as a low-key triumph, and don't
worry if the accolades and rewards aren't immediate. For
now, knowing you did a good job is enough.
July 3 Mars Conjunct Jupiter
This union is fairly rare, only occurring every two years
or so. The power of Mars coupled with the prosperity of
Jupiter increases your ambition and enthusiasm, which makes
you unstoppable in your quest to succeed. You'll be especially
enterprising and strong, and your go-getter attitude will
get you noticed by the right people. A word of caution: Your
desire to prove you're right could lead you to take
dangerous risks, so consider the possible consequences
before you charge ahead.
July 7 Mercury into Cancer
Until July 21, a Cancer-influenced Mercury will find us
intuitive and nostalgic for times past, but also a bit
pouty and impractical. We have at our disposal a profound
sensitivity to the feelings of others, a sentimentality and
empathy that could bring people closer together, more
intimately connecting us all through the open sharing of our
deepest emotions. Under this Water Sign influence, we can
use the powers of sentimental perception for good -- to help
others and create bonds -- or for selfish gain. Be alert to
your words and actions now, attentive to the multiple
meanings of even your most hidden intentions.
July 10 Venus into Virgo, New Moon at 18 degrees of Cancer
When the indulgent Planet of Love spends its three weeks or
so in this finicky Earth Sign, romance turns introspective
and uncertain. We could very well miss a stellar romantic
opportunity just because our standards and emotional guard
are set so Virgo-high.
After several weeks in prima donna Leo, this reticent
energy may come as a bit of a shock. Suddenly, you feel an
urge to hide from the spotlight where just weeks ago you
were hogging it. Also, your taste in romantic partners
shifts from glamorous to practical, from flash to skills.
Still, you're especially attentive to your mate's needs
and desires, and your disarmingly self-deprecating sense
of humor charms the person lucky enough to have won your
heart.
At the same time, a fresh, hopeful New Moon crests in
Cancer, a Moon phase associated with returning to your
roots and getting back to the origin of things. This could
mean a chance to restore broken connections and reestablish
relationships that dissolved from stress or the passing of time.
If someone comes back into your life, and you're not
emotionally prepared to deal with them, tell them so. Listen
to your instincts on this one, not on their demands of your
time and energy. Especially influenced by this emotional
energy will be Aries natives born April 7-11, Cancers born
July 9-13, Libras born October 10-14 and Capricorns born
January 7-11.
July 13 Mars into Leo
When Mars hotfoots it into fierce Leo, we express our
energy in loud, passionate ways. Mars is quite fiery on its
own, but when it visits the Lion's den, our desires intensify.
From now until August 29, you'll enjoy increased strength and
willpower, which will make achieving your goals a breeze.
However, watch out for arrogance as you work to make your
vision a reality -- your "My way or the highway" mentality
could hurt your popularity. Good leaders rise to the top
by making people feel good about themselves, so make sure
you give others credit and praise.
July 18 and 19 Sun, Mercury and Jupiter Conjunct in Cancer
With the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter Conjunct on these days,
our energy will be off the charts! It's a great time to get
up early and accomplish as much as possible. In all of
your excitement, you may be prone to exaggeration, though,
so make sure you don't bend the truth too much. You'll be
full of faith in what the future holds, so go ahead and
start making plans -- you might as well get the ball rolling!
July 21 Mercury into Leo
While Mercury was in Cancer, your communication was
evocative and emotional, your ears acutely attuned to what
others were saying to and thinking about you. Now that
Mercury's in optimistic Leo, your thoughts and words are
expressed with expansive, dramatic flourishes. Think of this
shift as the difference between a pinpoint laser beam and a
broad ray of Summer sunshine. For the next couple of weeks,
you'll be able to accomplish quite a bit -- as long as you
keep your energies on the bigger picture, on the grander
scale, the broader strokes. Now is not the time to tackle
detail-heavy tasks or research projects. You're living not
through theory, but through assertive and passionate action.
You know when to speak up, and yet you also possess amazing
willpower. Watch for arrogance and inflated pride, though --
you don't want to be described as someone who simply enjoys
hearing their own voice.
