  In case anyone is interested, someone has gone to the trouble of recording interviews with "Mia" where she describes the case from her point of view.

  I'm listening to some of the MP3s right now, and have just reached the point where her dad made the decision to consent to her having the transfusions.

  She said "We refused blood". Meaning initially her mother, father and herself. Then she goes on to say that her dad "changed his beliefs" and so 'we' then refers to her mother and herself. She quickly corrects herself and said "I refused, and my mother supported me." I suppose that is reflective of her coaching by the lawyer, who wants to present her as being capable of making this decision independently of her parents.

  I don't have the capability to host these MP3s myself in the event that the site gets taken down, so I'm wondering if anyone here can save them or host them somehow.

  Thank you, Scully. I just peeked at it as I found the sound files slow loading. I see that the people who put this up are JW and live in Calgary. I wonder if they are Mia's friends, and what they really think of it all.

  I find this whole blood refusal thing so scary. Suicide bombers are obviously nuts....sorry, I'm being judgmental. They kill themselves (and others) for the sake of their religion. So a JW is allowed to kill themselves...because that is what refusing blood in those critical situations results in...death... and in doing so hurt others ( the health care providers who care for them, the families left behind). Yes, there is less physical harm to others, but it is just as wrong.
