I was just rear-ended. My daughter was in the backseat. I was completely stopped-due to oncomming traffic. I was going to turn left. My signal light & brake light where on.

The girl who rear-ended my is 17 & was driving daddy's car. Her passenger told the police that she told the 17year old driver to stop that the the car in front had it's left signal light on.

I feel like a train ran over me. All of my right side aches ALOT more than my left side. The back of my head (rt side) & bum ache.

Does anyone have info that could help me feel better. The ER DR gave me Ibuprofen with Codeine.

ps. the girl was going at least 35 miles per hour. My car will be in the shop for a new bumper & the Unibody also needs to be checked out.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Don't have any info to help you feel better other than to make sure that you get plenty of rest.

    Cappucino,

I am so sorry to hear of this unfortunate occurrence!! Is your daughter doing all right?

What can make you feel better...besides the medications? Perhaps that you may get a monetary award if the pain and suffering continues on and on..... You obviously will be able to trace that suffering back to the auto accident, and someone's insurance company may have to compensate you for the suffering.

Well, of course then again you can meditate on the fine promises of paradise yet to come, soon!! LOL

Please contact the Attorney who has the largest personal injury ad in your yellow pages.

DO NOT talk to the Attorney for the other party.

Hopefully you have rental car rider on your policy so that while your car is being repaired you will have a rental car at your disposal. If not, your attorney should be able to negotiate that out of the other side.

I was rearended February 26.....my car was completely stopped waiting for a car to turn in front of me when a 3/4 ton truck rearended me going about 30 mph. The accident damn near totalled my car......fortunately both my son and I had out seatbelts on. He didn't suffer any injury.....but I did. My neck and shoulders.

My advice to you......go to your doctor IMMEDIATELY and SEEK AND ATTORNEY! When this first happened to me I didn't want to seek an attorney but my hubby insisted. I had a consult w/my attorney. I told him that I had no intentions of suing.....and then he explained to me just how it works in MN. First, before a claim can be made, (in MN anyway) you have to be incompacitated for 30 days, have medical bills amounting to $4,000 (Not including MRI or Xrays) and/or have a medical condition that lasts at least a year. The nice thing is that the attorney will watch out for you....and they don't collect any money unless there is a settlement. My attorney will receive 30-some% if there is a settlement, but you know what.....it will be worth every penny being that I haven't had to deal with one bill, not one phone call from the insurance company.....natta. I can focus all my energy on getting well.

My auto insurance covers my medical up to $20,000......but I am going to tell you......I suffered neck injuries that have been a pain. I have been going to Physical Therapy since March and am coming up on my last visit before having yet another recheck from my doctor in August.

The right side of my head hurts (apparently some cranial damage) and down the right side of my shoulders. I suffer from extreme headaches and stiffness.

Please, don't hesitate to get the needed attention. I know for myself, I want to make sure that ALL my medical needs are taken care of.

    Cappucino,

I do not have any advice for making you feel better. Sorry.

Other than - go hug your little girl. A BIG hug.

You are fortunate that you were not hurt worse that you are. (Not much consolation, since you are obviously in pain right now.)

Chiming in with what others are already saying - go get X-Rays, or whatever is needed to make sure that you are not hurt more than you realize.

Cars can be replaced. People cannot.

And remember to always buckle up.

    Regards,

Jim TX - who survived, but lost his dad and sister in a car accident in '63

Three years ago on July 3rd I was in the exact same accident (rear ended while stopped at a traffic light). I ended up with two calcified discs (one between C4 and C5 in the neck and the other in the lower back). Get all the medical care you feel you need and get a lawyer! Even though the car insurance is supposed to cover a mulitiude of medical bills they can really start to give you a hard time once the bills mount up. The lawyer can throw some weight their ways, plus you may actually need some settlement money to cover all your expenses.

    Hi Cappucino.

I am sorry to hear about your wreck. Those situations can leave you confused as to what to do next. PLEASE take the advice to see an attorney. The insurance companies will eat you up without one.

    Glad youre ok.

    Dino
