    I suspect it is valid but I really want confirmation before I click those 3 steps. There's actually nothing on that screen that says it has anything to do with JWN -- therefore my caution.

    No, please send me a screenshot if someone see's it.

    There is absolutely NO reason to download anything in order to view messages on this site.

    If it's a rogue ad then I will report it.

    Here are two different screen shots, the first from my pm page;

     Here is the other one.

    Yeah, that is obviously an ad. The giveaway is that it's in the same space that the ads always occupy and has the little |> X option links in the top right corner.

    You never need a download to view anything on this website. If there was ever going to be a download for anything (e.g. a native app) then there would be a full page explaining it.

    It should be blocked now but it appears to be one of those devious advertisers that has 1,001 variations of the same ad to make it difficult to block. My fingers are sore from doing right arrow / space to block them all - I started having flashbacks to playing Daley Thompsons Decathalon on the C64, LOL

    I got that too and downloaded 307 items that Malwarebytes  said were PUP's.  It was Mindspark. It has to do with something called Acebox.  You do not need it.  It was not as easy as I thought getting off my machine. I had to run MWB 2x in safe mode and run Combofix to finally get the C*rap off my machine.  I think it also allowed some other rouge stuff on my machine.  I keep MWB on and will never make that stupid mistake again.

    It did look very legitimate however.

    Yes I thought it would be a dodgy advert. I never trust anything that says to download stuff.
