Seeking a friend

Dear Friends,

I am 25, married (his name is James), and I have a 6-month old son. I am looking for an online friend. I am one of Jehovah's witnesses, and need someone who understands. Most people say my conscience is "too strict"- whatever that means. I don't feel that it should be a problem-- as I don't tell them their conscience isn't strict enough. But it does tend to make friendship difficult-- like when they want to see something that is not only rated R, but violent. I don't want to hurt their feelings, but I just can't watch stuff like that. It scares me. I'm kinda going through a hard time with some people here, and I don't know if it's just my location or what, but to stay strong, I'm going to need someone out there who understands. First, I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not, but this board encourages all people here, Current JW's, Ex-JW's, and like me, never a JW..

It sounds like you may not want to be around here with all the Ex-JW's (you refer to them as apostates). If you still want to socialize with us, we'd love to get to know you. But our conscience felt that you should know that you may be conversing with some people your organization has deemed as 'unsafe'.

Hi Gail,

First off I am not a Jehovah's Witness but I have friends who are and many who were. Online is a great way to meet friends especially when you are tied to family responsibilities. I hope it's not a problem if non witnesses reach out the hand of friendship although maybe your conscience does not allow that. Anyway.. Welcome to the board and big hugs!

From your post it sounds like you are in real need of a friend right now who would not be judgmental towards you - I think you will find some very understanding people here. They helped me tremendously in the past when I needed advice.
