NOT MARRY AN UNBELIEVER (NWT for all scriptures)

    Deuteronomy 21:10-13 ***

10 "In case you go out to the battle against your enemies and Jehovah your God has given them into your hand and you have carried them away captive; 11 and you have seen among the captives a woman beautiful in form, and you have got attached to her and taken her for your wife, 12 you must then bring her into the midst of your house. She must now shave her head and attend to her nails, 13 and remove the mantle of her captivity from off her and dwell in your house and weep for her father and her mother a whole lunar month; and after that you should have relations with her, and you must take possession of her as your bride, and she must become your wife.

But in the capture of a city not of the seven proscribed Canaanite nations, an Israelite soldier could take a virgin from the city as a wife after she had undergone a period of purification. In such cases no actual alliance would be formed with a foreign tribe or family, her parents having been slain when her city was taken.De 21:10-14; Nu 31:17, 18; De 20:14.

Marriage alliances with aliens were forbidden (Ex 34:12-16; De 7:1-4), but marriage with captive women was permitted (De 21:10-14)

Joseph the Hebrew showed Gods law in his heart when he responded to the seductive request of Potiphars wife, saying: "How could I commit this great badness and actually sin against God?" Though God had not specifically condemned adultery, yet Joseph recognized it as wrong, violating Gods will for humans as expressed in Eden.Ge 39:7-9; compare Ge 2:24.

Was it not wrong for Judah to have relations with a woman he thought to be a harlot, as the Bible says that he did?U.S.A.

As far as Judah was concerned, he thought he was having relations with a prostitute. In this he was not acting right, for it was Gods original purpose for a man to have relations with his wife and not for the earth to be filled with prostitutes. Still, Judah did not sin in the sense of transgressing a specific command of Gods law, for the Mosaic law was not given until much later.Gen. 2:24; compare Leviticus 19:29.

    TWO WITNESSES NOT REQUIRED

    Deuteronomy 22:25-27 ***

25 "If, however, it is in the field that the man found the girl who was engaged, and the man grabbed hold of her and lay down with her, the man who lay down with her must also die by himself, 26 and to the girl you must do nothing. The girl has no sin deserving of death, because just as when a man rises up against his fellowman and indeed murders him, even a soul, so it is with this case. 27 For it was in the field that he found her. The girl who was engaged screamed, but there was no one to rescue her.

    Numbers 5:11-27 ***

11 And Jehovah went on to speak to Moses, saying: 12 "Speak to the sons of Israel, and you must say to them, In case any mans wife turns aside in that she does commit an act of unfaithfulness against him, 13 and another man actually lies down with her and has an emission of semen, and it has been hidden from the eyes of her husband and has remained undiscovered, and she, on her part, has defiled herself but there is no witness against her, and she herself has not been caught; 14 and the spirit of jealousy has passed upon him, and he has become suspicious of his wifes faithfulness, and she in fact has defiled herself, or the spirit of jealousy has passed upon him, and he has become suspicious of his wifes faithfulness, but she in fact has not defiled herself; 15 then the man must bring his wife to the priest and bring her offering along with her, a tenth of an e'phah of barley flour. He must not pour oil upon it nor put frankincense upon it, because it is a grain offering of jealousy, a memorial grain offering bringing error to remembrance.

    16

"And the priest must bring her forward and make her stand before Jehovah. 17 And the priest must take holy water in an earthenware vessel, and the priest will take some of the dust that happens to be on the floor of the tabernacle, and he must put it in the water. 18 And the priest must make the woman stand before Jehovah and loosen the hair of the womans head and put upon her palms the memorial grain offering, that is, the grain offering of jealousy, and in the hand of the priest there should be the bitter water that brings a curse.

19 "And the priest must make her swear, and he must say to the woman: "If no man has lain down with you and if while under your husband you have not turned aside in any uncleanness, be free of the effect of this bitter water that brings a curse. 20 But you, in case you have turned aside while under your husband and in case you have defiled yourself and some man has put in you his seminal emission, besides your husband," 21 The priest must now make the woman swear with an oath involving cursing, and the priest must say to the woman: "May Jehovah set you for a cursing and an oath in the midst of your people by Jehovahs letting your thigh fall away, and your belly swell. 22 And this water that brings a curse must enter into your intestines to cause your belly to swell and the thigh to fall away." To this the woman must say: "Amen! Amen!"

    23

"And the priest must write these cursings in the book and must wipe them out into the bitter water. 24 And he must make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and the water that brings a curse must enter into her as something bitter. 25 And the priest must take the grain offering of jealousy from the womans hand and wave the grain offering to and fro before Jehovah, and he must bring it near the altar. 26 And the priest must grasp some of the grain offering as a remembrancer of it and must make it smoke upon the altar, and afterward he will make the woman drink the water. 27 When he has made her drink the water, it must also occur that if she has defiled herself in that she committed an act of unfaithfulness toward her husband, the water that brings a curse must then enter into her as something bitter, and her belly must swell, and her thigh must fall away, and the woman must become a cursing in among her people."

Actually, the reason for taking the women to marry was to prevent genocide. It wasn't uncommon in those days to try and wipe out the enemy completely, but the Israelites were forbidden to do this. They were to preserve a certain number of healthy virgin women (virgins are free of venereal disease and would have healthy children) the men were REQUIRED to have children with them so the women could continue their race. As far as I can tell, these children had all the same rights and privileges as a full-blooded israelite. There were times when whole cities were destroyed, but these were cities, not nations. Since all of those peoples' lands are empty now and most of them have all gone extinct, their only existance today is in the blood of those of Jewish descent.

<11 And Jehovah went on to speak to Moses, saying: 12 "Speak to the sons of Israel, and you must say to them, In case any mans wife turns aside in that she does commit an act of unfaithfulness against him, 13 and another man actually lies down with her and has an emission of semen, and it has been hidden from the eyes of her husband and has remained undiscovered, and she, on her part, has defiled herself but there is no witness against her, and she herself has not been caught;14 and the spirit of jealousy has passed upon him, and he has become suspicious of his wifes faithfulness, and she in fact has defiled herself, or the spirit of jealousy has passed upon him, and he has become suspicious of his wifes faithfulness, but she in fact has not defiled herself; 15 then the man must bring his wife to the priest and bring her offering along with her, a tenth of an e'phah of barley flour. This was basically an abortion, when the husband was gone and the woman became pregnant, and the due date was too close to call, the woman was to drink a mixture that would only hurt a fetus. When the fetus was expelled, it could be examined and its age determined. If it was obvious the woman became pregnant when the husband could not have beenthe father, they would be put to death. There are other medical conditions that could mimic pregnancy, if no fetus was expelled, this woman would have to be very ill.

Watchtower and the Catholic Church kind of ignore this passage of Scripture, don't they?

Since polygamy was permitted under the Israelite law, the only way a man could get in trouble was to have sex with an engaged or married woman (property issues). He would be put to death for that. Only a small fine was paid to the father when it was a single woman and he had to marry to her. Plus, women could not divorce their husbands only men could divorce their wives. There was no divorce for adultery because it carried a death penalty. The marriage was definitely severed then.

    "Don't it make you wonder"

Yes, the Law does not apply to Christians unless you are a JW. The WTS picks and chooses what applies though.
