This forum is a very cool means of communication. We don`t talk,we think of what we want to communicate and transfer it onto the screen in front of us.Then we send it around the world to other living beings to let them see what we are thinking, they in turn do the sameThink of it,we are communicating around the world on the internet with just our thoughts. It`s not just communication of thoughts,it go`s one step beyond. It`s conversation with another person, with just our thoughtsThis is a tool like no other I have encountered.I have not been on the internet that long and I am still amazed...OUTLAW

It's a bit like a safety value. Instead of blowing up at your nearest and dearest dub relative, you say what you are really thinking here. Sometimes I think we should just say it to them - and keep saying it until they get it into their thick skulls!

Yes, there is definitly a sensation of mind comunicating with mind here. Teilhard de Chardin spoke of the "noosphere" being the one mind of the planet, now forming. Could this be where the technology is going?

Amazing
Hi Outlaw: I agree with your thoughts ... the Internet is the greatest invention since the TV. ... the only subtle difficulty is at times if we accidently read into someone's thoughts emotions and state-of-mind that they may not have ... but other than this, it is an almost perfect communication tool ... good points.

Living in a country far far away from the majority of posters on this site, I find it amazing that I can correspond with people all around the globe in real time with them. Instant chat makes it possible to be able to communicate directly and within the blink of a second with anyone worldwide. I'm sitting here in my winter pjs typing this stuff, while someone on the Florida coast could be reading this the second I hit the "reply" button. Or in remote Russia. Or in Africa. Anywhere in the world where electricity and a telephone line is available.
Technology is an amazing thing.

The only thing I don't like about this type of communication is that it is easy to be misunderstood. Even though we all read and write english (well most us), we use some words and terms differently in different lands, and the whole meaning changes. Sometimes its our use of slang or popular phrases that vary... and its also hard to try and portray a certain tone without typing some witty adjective. So apart from offending a few people in ignorance...the overall experience is a good one.

Beck makes a good point, it's very difficult to tell what someone really means when they post here. All the nuances and body language of standard speech are lost here - so we just have to write better to make up for it!

Hey guy`s,thanks for the replys.I`d have to agree with you, sometimes our thoughts on the screen are mis-interpreted.As we get better at this,we will hone our communication skills of reading and aswering through thought. This is a new frontier,we are the pioneers of this medium and we are all just leaning how it works.I can only wonder where this will lead...OUTLAW
