JW's will become more IMMORAL after Exposer of...GB on pedophile issue by Dateline and BBC's Panarama.
The reason being that many will reason if the GB can get themselves in trouble heck! I might as well get mine too since Jehovah is so forgiving as to let them stay in office.

No, most will say the GB has apostasized by supporting pedophilia. They will not pretend the GB's doing something so evil would justify their doing anything evil too. That's ridiculous.
I think the brainwashed rank and file will largely be willing to accept the organization's contention that these are false charges being trumped up by evil apostates, and will go on as if nothing happened.
There will, however, be a substantial minority who will be so disturbed by all this as to be snapped out of their mind control, and many of these will leave the organization.
But as to the average rank and file JW becoming more immoral because they see corruption in the top levels of the organization, no, I can't see that happening. They will either dismiss the charges in their minds, assuming that the organization is always right, or they will have a major crisis of faith.

I think that the adverage JW will take sides with the WTS because it hurts to know that you wasted your whole life on an illusion. They will close thier eyes to the truth and continue on blindly.
Then there are those of us who see the WTS for what they are and will try to experience all kinds of freedoms that they could not have while under their control. Depending on the circumstances of each individual will determine the degree of immoral activity that they will indulge in.
I personally went to the porn sites, and mimicked some of their activity. oooooooo! Felt good, but bothered my conscience after a while. I drank as much alchohol as I wanted, cursed, and partied at the clubs that I wanted. That is the extent of my immorality. Then I had a Crises of Conscience. I said to myself, "I have to answer to God not to man". And so I stopped those activities. Oh it was not easy. I still want to indulge, but I pray hard and go to sleep.

i think the gov body has them convinced that these attacks on them is "evidence" that what they have been saying all along is true....... armageddon is almost here, and satan is attacking god's people with slander.
if any of the good elders, the honest, caring ones, speak up, and ask to many questions,....... they will get themselves disfellowshipped, leaving a more corrupt body of elders to deal with the children who are being molested................ so yes, i think it will make the children suffer more.
it's going to get worse and worse for the children,,,,,,,, till the victims decide to go for blood, and take down the whole power structure of the gov body, by continually suing for big money and taking all the factories and all assets away and putting the gov body and their lawyers in jail for conspiracy.
Am I correct to understand that the gb will be exposed for actual immorality that they themselves have committed or are you suggesting that they are ultimately responsible when someone else does wrongdoing??

I just *knew* that the "new light" concerning the sheep and the goats would result in a major falling out. Even an elder that I was close to at the time was scratching his head, trying to figure it out. Turns out that most accepted it as "new light" and kept their nose to the grindstone.
Oh, sure, it will cause those who've had doubts all along to really start thinking and a good percentage of them will slow fade. But most JWs? Please. They believe.
Well thanks for everyones reply. This is something that will be hard to tell what happens,.. it will perhaps not be known for certain,.. but I think some will, in their heart of hearts begin softening and may get themselves in to some sins(WT interpetation of sins), because this may give them the excuse, to indulge a little just for a short while, and then slowly do the fad because know deep down something is wrong but can't put their finger on it.
I think many more will not report to the Elders their sins because of this bad publicity recently. This is very good if it happens and this can help bring more out, because they lost some fear of the Organization.

I concur with your points in this because I know of a number of jws here in NYC who even before the molesting thing came to light, have said that they do not trust the elders in the organization anyway and they will not go to the elders to admit anything.
These same jws commit the wts interpretation of sins on a regular basis and they have expressed that as far as they are concerned, it is none of the elders business. And these jws I'm talking about still go to all meetings and do field service.
So I do feel that when the pedophilia news filters to more jws, this will make at least some more of them feel that hey! if the gb can sin and stay, so can I.
