    Prisca:

"Favourite kingdom melodies": a self-contradictory expression if ever I've heard one.

To plagiarise Dr. Johnson: the kingdom melodies are both good and original. Unfortunately, the parts that are good are not original, and the parts that are original are not good.

    Prisca,
LOL, nice list. When I was "in" I did enjoy a few that were more light-hearted and not so gloom-and-doomy feeling. However, I won't even play the classical orchestra recordings at home anymore because they instantly trigger old feelings and memories of a time I'm trying to leave in the past.

I've been seeing a commercial on TV for some very moving Christian-type music. They show large gatherings of people singing thier hearts out, with evident sincerity and emotion. I thought to myself, that's how it should be, shouldn't it?

Inside a Kingdom Hall, the singing is very different and sterile. "They" say that the "truth" is logical and not emotional, but does that really make sense either? Love is an emotion.

Thanks for the opportunity to vent! Oh, and I liked the Pink songbook...at least it was colorful!
