Tell C.O's to Get A Real Job

Most Circuit Overseers I've met would make excellent
salesmen or corporate representatives. They have the suits
and the personality for the job.

I suppose like some long term guys at Bethel, they just
get scared of REALLY living and working in the world
like the rest of us. If you imprison a bird in a cage long
enough, eventually he may get too scared to come out.

Of course, there may be a sense of loss in getting a real
job - you lack that feeling of fufillment when ignorant
deluded Witlesses fawn over you and elders worry about
your every whim. If C.O.'s leave this kind of status
behind, they might be spiritually better off anyway.

In the local congregation there is the divorced wife of a former CO. He left JW, got divorced and became a sales representative for an insurance company. He is said to be quite successfull owning his own house and driving a Mercedes-Benz.

    Met,

It's also hard for them to give up getting their palm greased with cash. Some of the real smooth operators can clear a nice weeks pay tax free.

    Hey Met,

I agree with you totally - CO's and DO's are excellent salesmen - and middle management. On a thread by Bibleexaminer (Letter to be read tonight or something) - I made the same points. These men are GOOD and TALENTED. They've come up through the company, made advancement, keep the local factory workers in line, spread the company slogans..........and survive.

    That's Middle Management.

These men are good - but they would have to leave their comfort zone, just like we did. It's their choice - I firmly believe they have the abilities within themselves to make it in the Real World.

Best wishes to any of them who are in that transition - it ain't all bad to be FREE.

ps: btw, there were slaves who chose to stay with their masters after the Civil War because that's all they had known - and better the evil they know than the good that's unknown.

has anyone had the privilage of taking a CO out to lunch or even having him go to one of you bible studies? This was a load of crap. Ppl had to sign up to take him out to lunch, some would actually get upset that his week was already booked up so they had to wait another 6 months for him to come by to be able to buy him some food. For some reason, I never liked COs. I always like the fact that JWs say that their elders are not supposed to be held in high regard, but that all gets blown out of the water with COs, DO, and ppl from bethel. I guess its just human nature to put people above us if they have more power and authority, err I mean privilages (SP??)
