I love water, the healing soothing properties of sitting in a serene spot in the woods by the riverbank, does me the ruddy world of good.

Who else here loves water and has a particular spot where they just enjoy unwinding and chilling out? Can you describe this special to you, place?

Who here has spent also many hours in reflexive meditation just watching the way that water moves and swirls along, perhaps eddies over the estuary mudflats, those tiny tubular rollers, or seen the way that ripples interact with one another?

Who has heard the call of the curlew singing its mournful note by light of the full moon, a faint echoe responding from upon the riverbanks?

Tell me more about your own relationship with water:

Greetings Mark...I love the water, especially laying on the beach and letting the sound of the waves take ahold w/the hypnotics....It also spooks me a bit in a good way to think about the deep waters of lakes and oceans...Here are a couple of pics I got from Minnesota on my recent visit..

    Sincerely,

I loved sitting on China beach on Vancouver Island British Columbia watching the Pacific tide ebbing in to the Juan de Fuca Strait, on the other side of which, the Olympic mountain range in Washington towers over. No people for miles upon miles. Just the sounds of the water and rainforest behind me. Ahhhhh. Now my only relationship with water is watching the Gorgon occasionally and painfully rear his dirty and waterlogged head out of the once most polluted bodies of water in North AmericaI like to call Hamilton Harbour. I am moving back to British Columbia ASAP. Hamilton blows.

How much do I love water? Two months ago I turned down a 60k+ a year job in Vegas because it is in the middle of the desert and too far away from the Ocean. Fortunately, they are trying hard to arrange that I still live in Washington but email my work to them. I used to hate the water as a kid but now if I don't get my Puget Sound/Pacific Ocean fix I get lathargic and moody. I'm sure I'm a psychologists dream right now but to me the ebb and flow of the Ocean is spiritual. Having a martial arts background just adds to that spirituality.

yes come drink you thirsty ones,

The refreshing water Jehovah provides me is all I need.

I need to be near the ocean. I can see the ocean from my windows but it still isn't close enough. I would live right next to the water if I could afford it. The folks on the Malabu coast get ragged on almost every winter it seems because thier homes get flooded by the waves, some even get demolished, but they rebuild. It seems a bit nuts to most people but the ocean has that magnetic effect on some people. They don't care about the $$ they have to spend to rebuild as much as they care about the tranquility they live in at least 9 or 10 months out of the year and even more if the winter isn't bad.

Living in So. Ca. a place by the sea can easly make up for the rat race's on the job.

Terrific post! I LOVE the water--I learned to swim when I was two and have been addicted ever since. My lifelong dream has always been to live near water, preferable the ocean. In January of this year I moved to Rhode Island with my boyfriend, and it's wonderful to be able to go to the beach whenever we want!

I actually just got back from taking my dogs for a swim with another friend and her dog. We found a great beach that was practically empty! I also think that being a Pisces affects me too--I was always called a fish when in the water.

It's nice fulfilling a life long dream of living near the ocean though; and in a couple of weeks we're moving a little more south in the state and we'll be about 5 houses up from a big lake. We can see the water from our place, and have a wall of windows looking out towards it. I am soooooooooo excited! Ain't life grand when you're not waiting............and living each and every day instead.

This is an old trestle at Burnt Bridge Creek in Vancouver, Washington. It is a paved trail where I sometimes go just to walk and relax. What is so great is that it is located about 2 miles from my house, easy to get to and not heavily used. The trail is lined with thick trees and undergrowth, lots of shade and serenity.
