Can I just say that us Brits are a proud nation. We may not always be the biggest, richest or most famous, but there is something deep down in every Brit that feels good about their nation.
One aspect of this is TV. For years we have just had a few terrestrial channels while America had satellite, cable and more than our 3 then 4 channels. Some people just have 4 or 5 channels even now. I only recently got satellite, but I don't watch it. Why? Because as we have known all along, we were not missing anything by not having 100 channels. Many people like myself still watch BBC and not much else.
What I have grown up with is quality programming with absolutely no advertising; brutally honest, politically and commercialy unbiased and beautifully crafted information and entertainment that doesn't hide the truth, nor capitalise on it.
That is why I am looking forward to Panorama tonight.
