Of misinformation and reliable reporting of facts

In times gone past and of late I have been getting increasingly worried about the amount of misinformation that is sometimes here represented within this community. As a note to all posters, myself included in this, can we urge each other to make sure that what we are reporting is fact and not pie in the sky.

Many more 'outside' parties are now taking an interest in these important issues and it does our collective credibility no good whatsoever if information is not properly reported or substantiated. Let us all stick to the facts and comment only on what we know to be true. The WT organisation itself, often left to its own devices, especially amongst it's membership, will, in time do enough damage unto themselves to bring about their own downfall, I am sure they can be / are most adept at doing this.

As more pressure is put on the organisation from the media and other interested parties, with readily available communication methods, (i.e. the internet), and an increasingly defensive 'brotherhood', more in time, will vent their feelings, their opposition to anything on the outside of their organisation, this will do our cause much more good than harm, so please, stick to the facts whenever possible.

Side note. I have just been in talks with another independent anti JW campaigner who works pretty much alone on research issues etc. The local Member of Parliament, Candy Atherton (Falmouth/Camborne) has been inundated with enquiries from concerned members of the public following the BBC Panorama airing, a lot of people are not at all happy. Trusting that this is not an isolated incident, from the Brits here, please contact your MP to see what feedback has been received in your area. Would you mind letting me know the results of your inquiry upon this please?

    Any other comments welcome.

I agree with you, Mark. If it's not fact, no one shouldn't say it as a fact.

I have posted several comments on child abuse and others. Those are facts. I had talked to the elders and got the answers out of their mouths ( sorry it's not documented. They wouldn't give me anything in writing even the elders' handybook). I also looked up the Watchtower CD ROM and went to a local State University library for research, and got those facts as well.

However, I've got a problem with current Witnesses who keep saying all this child abuse case is "half truth propaganda". Well, can anyone tell me the other half truth is??????? Do they know for a fact that the other truth really exists? Or were they just heard or told by someone or some people who heard or told by someone or some other people? Geesh......How ambiguous can you be????????? :-p

    Amen to sunshineToo.

Back to the top for this I think for obvious reasons.
