I believe there's an illustration in the book of a group of people doing obesience to a member of th annointed class. Can anyone confirm?

Not that I can see.
Pages 188-189 show people worshiping God; (with the YHWH symbol over his head, funny no Jesus); page 96 shows 'the anointed' watchting over humans, but the humans are not even LOOKING back up.
But these cannot be interpreted as giving worship tot he anointed.
