<P>Alright, I'm gonna tell the truth. My mom is a JW, and i attend the meetings. I have a study also. </P> <P> ;</P> <P>But, I'm also one of those kids who lives the so-called "Double life" I'm not being phony really, if someone ever asked me i would tell the truth. My thing is, I feel it isn't "me" you know. I'm not going to put it down; some of the stuff they say makes alot of sense. Most of my friends who attend church asked me more about bible stuff than they ask their pastors.</P> <P> ;</P> <P>Well, I was having my study and my conductor was talking about Armegeddeon. The way he described it scared the sh*ssshh out of me. He didn't do it on purpose, he was just telling me because i asked him for "his" opinion. The bible says about the earth and heaven will shake, so of course that means great earthquakes. Plagues, fire, birds, and so on. "Jehovah's awesome power" will bring down all the wicked. And it scared me because i know I will be destroyed also. After he left, for my own conscious, i took out every watchtower and Awake my mother gave me that i just threw in my "bin"</P> <P>I started thinking. I mean, it isn't like what they say doesn't make sense. I mean, after 1914 alot of craziness happend that still doesn't make sense to us today. Earthquakes, the Spanish Flu , famine, and the wars. We are in a war now. I thought my generation wouldn't have to go threw that and it is....weird.</P> <P>But I started to think, if I changed everything to this faith to make myself right would it matter. jehovah is the "reader of hearts" as they say, so even if i did, all the doubt and confusion would still prolly get me killed.</P> <P>My friends, one catholic, other baptist, say the same thing. They don't want to anger god, but they don't feel worthy, or feel that they can't do it. Like giving your all to god will change you...which is the definition of a cult. So doens't that make ALL religions a cult in that perspective?</P> <P>Anyways, I'm just saying, the Jws is cool. There are some foul ones..yes, there are. And of course the society is gonna be messed up, right because its run by imperfect humans. But if thats so, won't Jehovah, in his appointed time fix it.</P> <P>My friend said that her church is messed up, that the pastors wife was cheating with someone and it has their whole congregation in a funk. And that god will fix it when the time comes. All religions have something like that, right?</P> <P>I mean, if Armegedeon came, and it is possible. let's not lie. I mean, if the twin Towers can come down, which NOONE-except the gov't- thought can come down. Then can't the whole world?</P> <P>If it happend, I'll prolly bang on the Kingdom hall screaming "let me in!!!! I'm sorry!!!" because it's in me. If you were raised in "the truht" you know sometimes even though you are not there, it pops up. When something on t.v pops up with the occult, it'll pop up and say "demonic! change the channel!" Stuff like that. ;I was raised that way, so it is in me like my ABC's.</P> <P>Everytime I sin, i always think of jehovah. When i was young, when I was talking about religion, i was ashamed becasue i knew I would get teased. but sometimes i would blurt out "Jeho-" and stopped my self by say "Jeh-auhsus..."LOL. it matched because i stutter and nobody ever gave me a second look.</P> <P>So, I guess if the world ever came down, I would just have to go to the liqour store and go out not knowing who the hell I am....</P> <P> ;</P> <P>Anybody feel the sameway?</P> <P> ;</P>

GAH!
Work on formatting some!
But, to address a couple concerns:
after 1914 alot of craziness happend
Interesting they use 1914 a lot. You do realize, of course, that the date they use to calculate 1914 (607 as the fall of
Jerusalem) isn't correct? Jerusalem DIDN'T fall in 607. Or anywhere near then, really. At the start of the 20th century, that
was the common thought, but archeologists have since proven quite conclusively that year is incorrectEarthquakes, the Spanish Flu , famine, and the wars.
Earthquakes were just as bad BEFORE 1914 - they are a feature of having a 'living planet' (vs, say, Mars, which has no
tectonic activity and is dead as a doornail now). The Spanish flu? What about the bubonic plague (WAY before 1914)? THAT'S the closest humanity ever came to being
wiped out by a disease. And, I'm sorry, but we have yet to have a 100 years war since 1914, nor a Spanish Inquisition, nor a Ghensis Kahn, nor....
The JWs would like you to believe the post-1914 world is all falling apart, when, in fact, just the opposite is true.
Lifespans have never been longer.
Health has never been better.
The average standard of living has never been higher.
The 21st century has so far proven to be the most spectacular time in human history to be alive.
Just don't let their scare-mongoring get to you - they will intentionally misrepresent facts, quote statistics out of context, and
pick up on sensationalistic news items. Fear is their biggest asset. They WANT you to be afraid.

First of all welcome to the board..it sounds like you have lots of issues and I am sure alot of people here can give you support.
I myself was raised as one an one I dont think like that anymore--In fact I affiliate myself the closest with paganism. I am fully absorbed into astrology, tarot, gaia, as well as my own inner psyche. And this is even with my parents who are still very much into the JW religion and would probably disown me if they knew all of what I do practice.
But you have to find your own place in this world--you need to think for yourself----my biggest problem with Chistianity is that I dont believe that a god of love would destroy his creation when he could easily fix the world---It all just didnt add up to me....
I recommend that you take some time and learn all you can from all sources and come to your own decisions and conclusions---we will be here to assist you if you ever have questions or just want to share your thoughts---I wish you well on your new journey.Spice
ps---can you please edit your format--so that we dont have to scroll so far over--thanks

Xander can't be more right.
Being young (I'd like to think I am, I'm the same age as Xander) and having been brought up in the "truth" I know what you feel.
The best advice I can give you is: READ
Stay on this site, read the posts, read some other articles like on
- http://www.watchthetower.com
- etc, etc, etc....
Then you'll be able to figure out on your own if you want to stay there or not. If the decision doesn't come from you then it's not worth jack!

Hi there Confused. Well I was not brought up a JW, but still things like Armageddon scared the crap outta me.
Doubt and confusion is something we probably all had. Just look at you questions, and go and find answers for the, There is no problem, or fault with that. I can even give you a biblical quoting for it - Acts 17:11
Search for the answers, and once you have found them, make up your mind about what to do with it. This is a wonderful site to ask questions, and there are many more on the web.
Good luck and welcome aboard!
