I was thinking about the time when i asked an elder about this because he said i had to give up smoking to become baptised, and i said that it doesnt specify in the bible that you cant smoke,he then said it defiles the flesh and that our bodies are a sacrifice to god i was puzzled because our flesh is already corrupted by sin, bacteria, pollution, etc. He then said god will bring to ruin all those ruining the earth but think about it so does driving cars ruin the earth,he then said that gods will couldnt be accomplished worldwide without transport. But the disciples didnt use transport that polluted the earth and they managed ok,so im now thinkin how can a world wide preaching work be accomplished without ruining the earth today, well we have got the net, phones, mmm i let you all decide
Should jws drive cars!!!

I think they should all use bicycles. The LDS do and they have @ 1100000 people in their borg.

Well I don't know about jw's driving cars. But it is precisely because I am no longer a JW that I was able to sell my car Sunday. I'm totally car-free. I will now bike, walk, or ride public transit anywhere I want to go. And occasionally, I may rent a car. When I was a JW, field service was the only activity where the car was really a benefit. We had some spread out territory.

Well, I'm afraid more LDS are using CARS these days.
You asked all those questions to an elder, haujobbz? Poor man ( the elder )! You really had him sweat!
I still believe in the biblical moral standard including smoking, getting drunk and etc. But regarding driving car......hmm....I guess I'll just get a smog check regulary and try to meet the standard of the state of California. ;-)

LDS stands for latter day saints. Yes they are the Mormons. In the western US in the smaller towns their guys that are on a mission all ride bicycles-black pants-white shirt- tie. I think that in the large cities they use a car to keep from being run over.
I know some mormons and some "jack" mormons, they don't attend regularly. Some of them are very nice kind people.
They also have their rather unique demands. If their women fulfill all the demands, they must have the mental-physical-emotional strength of an elephant.

Should JWs drive cars? Certainly NOT.
JWs avoid blood transplants precisely because they are dangerous to their health
I know of an entire car-load of JWs who were killed while in field service. A train hit their car at a crossing.
Come to think of it, not only are cars bad for the health of a JW, but FS is right up there too.

They don't give a dam about the environment. All the bs they print 24/7, a huge waste of paper indeed. Jehovah's gonna fix it all anyway remember? sheesh...and to think you guys call yourselves Apostates! Any Apostates worth his or her pillar of salt knows that all the polution, dead bodies, nuclear waste, etc, is all gonna disappear, or is it? eheheh......see cyrano's post for a really good laugh.
